I have a hard time sticking to my weight loss plan on weekends and receive very little support from family members. Does anyone have any helpful hints to keep me on course?

I have the same problem. Not that my wife isn't supportive but she can eat whatever/whenever and never puts on a pound. That makes it hard for us to have the same foods in the house and when there is "bad" stuff in the house on the weekends its hard for me to not get into it. Then I feel like crap come Sunday night0

It is not your family's responsibility it is yours
You will need some will power and restraint to reach your goals0 -
plan meals ahead
or indulge a little exercise it off and stay under calories0 -
Input food prior to eating. Make the choice that you feel is appropriate to your objectives.0

the only motivation that keeps me on track is my personal will power, and my determination to reach my goals. thats it.0

I have to get a break on the weekends. That is when I have some Chinese or pizza but try not to overdo too much. Self control is easier with healthier foods but on weekends I treat myself but not too much.0

SirBonerFart is right - YOU have to be your biggest supporter. You are going to be faced with obstacles and challenges your entire life. You have to build up the will power to resist it all. You have to REALLY, REALLY, REALLY be ready and WANT to lose weight to be able to resist.
If you can't do that........you might not be ready to get serious about working out.
Also, sit down with the people you live with an explain the problem. TELL them you need their support and help. Then PURGE THE HOUSE. Get rid of all the temptations. You are less likely to want to go out on the weekends to get "crap" food and will more likely just eat what is easiest:happy: which will be what is at home.0 -
Just remember you can't substitute exercise and then eat what ever you want................your food has to be healthy.0

i can totally relate ! i hate it when i think of all the hard work i put in during the week JUST to ruin it on the weekend....instead of "cheat days" do "cheat meals" - 1 on saturday and 1 on sunday , that way it shouldn't do too much damage0

Make it easy on yourself.
This does not mean throwing your eating plan out the window. It means (1) choosing the healthy foods you like, where eating them doesn't feel like a sacrifice; and (2) making sure in advance that you have those foods readily accessible.
I use that strategy seven days a week.
My partner and I have very different eating habits, but I can walk past snack foods and grab a piece of fruit without a second thought. If we're away from the house and she needs to eat at a fast food place, I'm prepared with my own small cooler with "my" food. Or I've eaten a large salad before we've left the house and can get by on minimal restaurant food.
If we're at a group event, I keep my less-healthy intake down to a minimum and am right back on track the next day. For me it's a case not so much of willpower as it is of strategy, plus patience. I appreciate outside support but I don't rely on it.0
