Does anyone else use Muscle Milk? How long until you notice results if you have used it, and is it more in a way of leaner looking legs, etc. Or definition of muscle? I learned that I need to take in protein after a workout - (verify if you agree), this is what my cousin uses. Anyone notice great results?

Yuck is right, it's gross. The reports these days are saying a good old glass of chocolate milk will give you the protein and sugar you need to recover after a workout.0

If you are using muscle milk you need to read the findings at consumerreports.org in their July issue. It seems that muscle milk has high levels of metals that are not good for your system. They tested 15 different protein drinks and this one had the highest levels.0

From the research I did when I first started weight training, the norm is approximately 1 gram of whey protein per pound of body weight. The thing is, I'm also on a budget, so instead of buying muscle milk I get the Body Fortress products from Wal-Mart. Their whey gives me 26 grams of protein per scoop and I usually do 2 scoops per shake. The products are priced well and they've got a pretty good variety of flavors, but they all get old, so I like to rotate through them. Body Fortress also makes a 26 gram protein "shot" that is Fruit Punch flavored and comes in a bottle that looks like a test tube. I throw one of theose down in the middle of a workout and a shake immediately after I've completed a workout, within the "golden" half-hour when your body benefits from it the most. First thing in the morning is another good time for a shake as your body has essentially been "fasting" all night long and your body will be quick to absorb it. Make sure to get a handful of good carbs with your shake to keep things in balance.
Good Luck!0 -

I don't use MM but I know what it is..It is something to supplement your nutrition. And nutrition is very important to getting the most out of your efforts. But you need to work hard and be consistent. If you do that with both your training and nutrition you will achieve results. Protein post WO is beneficial.0 -
i use muscle milk i half my seriving though and i add berries and almond milk for breakfast, The consumer reports article is if you drink it 3 times a day your metal levels could rise, i really am not worried about it, there is an allowable amount of metals in our drinking water as well and you can get ecoli from salad, so i will just keep doing what i am doing before eventually i am just eating air.0

I used to drink Muscle Milk, but I can't stand it anymore. I now drink BSN Syntha-6, fave flavor is chocolate peanut butter.
As far as muscle, that all depends on your BMI and bodyfat percentage. What works for some may not work for others. Some people may be going to the gym, walking on the treadmill @ 2.0 mph and talking on the cell phone. They won't see results. So it all depends on your own body composition and effort.0 -
I've not tried Muscle Milk. I drink Myoplex Original. It has more protein with less calories and fat.0
