Duromine Side Effects

Hi guys, I am looking to lose 25kg (currently 91kg) before Christmas this year. I was looking at Duromine, my mum has had great success on it as well. My problem is that I am currently at University and am coming up to exam time where I need to be able to concentrate. Has anyone found that Duromine has found them irritable or unable to complete tasks?

Look up Phentermine, which is what it is, and you will find plenty of info (and not a few horror stories). Or just check out the wikipedia page which includes the following:
"After short-term use, tolerance begins and can be followed by rebound weight gain. Long term data for use of phentermine shows no net weight loss.
"Cardiovascular side effects include palpitations, tachycardia, and elevation of blood pressure. In the central nervous system, it can cause overstimulation, restlessness, dizziness, insomnia, euphoria, dysphoria, tremor, and headache. Its gastrointestinal effects include dryness of the mouth, unpleasant taste, diarrhea, constipation, and other gastrointestinal disturbances. It may also cause allergic effects - urticaria and changes in libido.
"Its less common, but more severe, side effects include:[citation needed]
Convulsions (seizures)
Fever
Hallucinations
Agitation and aggression
Bizarre behavior
Mental or mood changes
Exaggerated sense of well-being
Increased blood pressure
Severe or persistent light-headedness, fainting or headache
Periods of mania followed by period of depression
Fast or irregular heartbeat
Overactive reflexes
Tremors, trembling or shaking
Panic
Restlessness
Severe nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
Stomach cramps
Weakness
Constipation
Primary pulmonary hypertension
Regurgitant cardiac valvular disease
Pounding in the chest or shortness of breath"0 -
I am currently on Duromine, and I have been pretty great. I am on day 14 now and have lost 8kg so it REALLY works, but I am being VERY strict with my eating. Have not started exercise as I want the weight loss to slow down a bit first! I had a headache on day 1. I find that I get quite tried early in the evenings but I am waking up super early around 4-5am (I have to get up at 5 anyway so no biggy) It has however messed with my concentration, I find that my thoughts are on hyper drive, and I have to really try hard to focus on work etc. The thing is everyone reacts to it differently, so if you do get it try get it soon and trial it for a week or 2, you will know by that time if you will be able to focus on study!0

I am also taking Duromine; on the 15mg and 5 days in I've had little to no side affects.
I'm up at 4am for work and take my tablet first thing; full of beans all day and start winding down around 4pm. I haven't been monitoring weight loss as I'm taking mine specifically to increase energy levels (working 14hr days, owning a horse and still squeezing in workouts doesn't see me get home until 8.30pm: dinner, shower and hit the sheet 9.30 at the earliest  )
I MAYBE get a slight headache in the afternoon buuuuuut I have misplaced my reading glasses as well and not wearing them would be a contributing factor.
ONLY 5 DAYS IN THOUGH so ill get back to you :glasses:0
