CHIA SEEDS, FIBER AND FILLERS

OH MY!!!!

Anyway. I haven't really had the money to do this yet, but my nutritionist told me this 'mimics' the effect of gastric bypass surgery.

By simply swallowing a teaspoon of chia seeds and increasing my fiber WITH EVERY MEAL. Use the chia seeds a half hour before I eat with or without the fiber, But he wants me to do this everytime I eat. I work in retail so I haven't been able to try this yet, but with a new desk job and a set schedule starting in Aug. I'd figure I'd give it a go.

Now I've never used chia seeds or heard of them as a weight loss guide other than fads. Is this worth it? Worth giving a shot? What are they used for anyway. All I googled was that they 'gel up and clean you out'
Now I have tried the fiber. It just makes me feel off.

I'd do anything if I had to think of gastric bypass surgery but yes I think this could help since it's filling.. as are vegetables. Eat TONS of them, not too much of the starchy ones of course. Please make sure you are having a lot of water(other fluids) with all that fibre though or it can a very bad idea.
  • I figured it was worth a shot at least. Now since I actually am starting a desk job, I'm hoping I have more luck.
  • I think protein shakes are very filling. If you get a lighter type, they are only about 100 cals a scoop. I thicken it with half a frozen banana- about 50 more calories. You could thicken with chia seeds. Many people do. I just like the banana bc it takes away some of the stevia taste while adding thickness. It also allows me to dilute the scoop of powder a lot more. I use about 6 ice cubes and a cup of water and end up with about 30 ounces of thick shake. Very filling.

Protein shakes taste like dessert to me. Before using them, I had no idea I could get Chocolate Malt or Peanut Butter Cookie Dough flavor. They give me a low-cal snack and fulfill my cravings for ice cream. I have two a day.

But there is no magic food. You just have to experiment to find out what you find satisfying. I also fill up with things like roasted artichoke hearts or acorn squash chips, but those aren't as easy as protein shakes for work.
