This was from D*Con last year and is way up there in the top of my favorite photos ever taken. I have others, but I looks so incredibly goofy in them, they aren't worth sharing. My favorite ever? Same weekend, taken with three of the boys from True Blood. >.< But I don't have it scanned in...

I don't like pictures of myself either, in fact I hated them with a vengence and ran from cameras and mirrors - but at the same time as losing weight I'm learning to love myself again including photos of myself. I'm never going to be a supermodel, but I look good enough! I'm never going to be 21 again either, but I'm starting to accept that I look good for my age. I'm learning to stop looking at the bits I don't like and focus on how happy and healthy I'm looking, and I'm slowly getting better at being photographed and looking at myself with enjoyment instead of horror.

It sounds daft, but there's more to how we look than just appearance alone! I've noticed photos of me that have been taken recently look so much happier and "normal" because I'm feeling better in myself when they're being taken, and better about myself when I look at them. And I'm learning to be less self critical because I'm beginning to understand that really I'm no different to anyone else at all! I'm not a freak or abnormal at all. Once I started to let go of those feelings, I started to see images of myself differently.

Well, that's me. I don't know if it helps at all.

Thank you so much! :flowerforyou: I've always hidden from the camera and that's why there are very few pics of me, even less with my face in them. I feel like the camera picks up everything about myself I don't like! I know I should get over it, but after 40 years I think I've just accepted that I will never have a good picture of myself!

This is my favorite picture because the picture on the left shows a girl that is trying to secretly avoid the camera by "accidentally" looking away.



The picture on the right shows confidence and fearlessness. I am no longer afraid.
