Hey ladies and gents!
I am just wondering if any of you experienced extreme fatigue during the first few days of changing to a healthier diet. I completely fell off the wagon and hadn't logged onto MFP in a REALLY long time.. This week I have jumped back on and am feeling EXTREMELY tired!!! Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks!

Do you take a multivitamin? B vitamins and iron could help that issue.0
-
Yes, this happens to me. I'm addicted to sugar, I think.0

Cutting your calories too drastically all at once may have been a shock to your system. If that's not the case, make sure you are not deficient in iron, B6, or B12. An iron supplement gives me so much energy.0

I do not take my multivitamins regularly, I always forget! But it's just since I've changed my diet that it's gotten really bad. I'm really hoping it gets better as time goes on!0

YES! I stopped drinking beer and eating bread, tortillas, cake, pie, cookies, etc, etc. It took me about ten days to get my act together. Now, I feel great. It was HORRIBLE to begin with though.0

I think we would be able to offer better advice if your diary were open. How many calories are you eating/ exercise level etc.?0

What is your current height/weight and how much are you trying to lose?
Have you had a health checkup lately?
It could be any number of reasons.0 -

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one!!! I woke up this morning and didn't feel tired like the past couple days!! What a relief!0 -

Oh I thought it was open, I haven't been on here in so long there is not much to see anyways.. But I will open it!0 -
Did any of you experience headaches after changing your diet? I have been getting headaches since I started, I am not as tired anymore, but the headaches are still there!!0
-
Did you cut out or reduce caffeine? That would cause tiredness and headaches. Another thing that you could check is your blood pressure to make sure it isn't too low. My husband had that happen after he started exercising...he was on blood pressure pills (still is, but a lower dose). Are you exercising late at night making it harder to go to sleep?0

you really should have symptoms checked by your dr to be on the safe side, however, extreme fatigue and headache are always what i experience when i give up processed foods and sugar. they react with my body like alcohol to an alcoholic. feel the same way when i start to eat them again, too. why the heck would i do that to myself!0

headaches can be lack of caffeine if you've cut back, artificial sweetener in diet soda now that your body is cleansed, or just plain dehydration.0

Every time I stop sugary foods I go through withdrawls - headaches, flu-like exhaustion, foggy thinking, & depression. After 5-7 days I feel better. I'm hoping not to fall off that wagon again because it's awful to go through.0

I am wondering if you cut out something you are used to eating a lot of and your body is reacting with withdrawals. That said, when I cut gluten/wheat out of my diet, I stopped having fatigue.0

You need to EAT MORE!!!!! No wonder your so tired, your body can't run on nothing it needs fuel!!!!0

I'm sure that is why, cutting out a lot of processed and sugary foods. If it doesn't improve after a week, I should probably see a doctor to see if it isn't something worse!0 -
I'm not a very big coffee/soda drinker, the last time I had my blood pressure checked it was perfect. Having it checked again wouldn't hurt I suppose! I also have NO problems falling asleep whatsoever.0
