30dayshred - still no changes

I started 30 Day Shred 10 days ago and I am getting pretty impatient. On one side, my strength and endurance have increased to the max, and I can notice my arms and legs are waaaay more firm and defined, but my tummy fat, the sole thing I want GONE is still there. Not even half an inch off, nothing, and I am not into losing weight per se, I want some fat trimming and definition.
So, I am just wondering, is it ok? When's the time when I see that damn tummy getting flatter and smaller?

I work out every day, I go jogging two or three times a week, and give or take, I eat around 1500 kcal a day.

What else am I supposed to do?

Patience. Trust me, I barely have any but that's really a big factor. Tummy fat is hard to lose and it might be the last thing you'll lose, depending on your body. From what I read there have been some changes. 10 days is a very small amount of time. I am most concerned about my stomach, but must work on the whole package. Now my stomach is flattening out, but I've been at it for almost 3 months.

Focus on those positive changes you have made and keep on truckin'! I am eager to see my progress at 6 months. Might sound like a lot of time, but I've learned these changes take time. By doing it at a nice steady rate, they are more likely to stick.

    Hope that helped :/

    I wish I had a better answer.

It's been 10 days, come back after 2-3 months.

A few suggestions come to mind. Be patient. Keep at it. Reevaluate your expectations?
You say you're already seeing results, so where's the problem? Unfortunately, you can't choose where your body will lose from. Fat loss happens all over, and from the sound of it, its already happening.

10 days in... I'd say you're already ahead of the game.

    This.

It didn't take 10 days to get that tummy. It's not going to go away in 10 days either...

Wait til you get to part 2, I am on day 2, oooft its hard. I only burn between 100 to 140 in the twenty minutes but its good. I haven't lost for a few weeks but can see small changes and the tape measure is measuring a bit smaller and clothes are much looser. Keep in trucking!!!!

You need to hang on and not be impatient with yourself.
I started the 30 day shred on July 1st ... with a group here on MFP. We take Sat & Sun off, so today is day 23 and I will tell you I do feel and SEE a difference in my mid-section. I just posted today, for the first time in a long time ... I was walking down the hall at work and when I looked down I didn't see my belly protruding out like I was 9 months preg. and I saw my feet and legs in my stride. I am 58 years old and I have the mid-life mid section thing going on. So the 30 day shred gets tougher in levels 2 and 3 and there is more ab/core work being done there. Put your tape measure away and wait till the end. If you are working hard as you say, you will see results! I also workout 4xs a week at the gym and 2 days a week I go for a walk/hike.

    Good luck!

I'm not sure 10 days of anything is going to do much.

I am supposed to start Level 2 tomorrow and I've seen people who had pretty great results even after 10 days so I guess I hoped for too much. I guess tummy will be the last one to go. It's not protruding though, but when I sit down it kind of spills over my skinny jeans and I don't like that :D

P.S. And let's not forget THE love handles!
  • Well, guys I've just wanted to give you an update, especially for fellow Shredders - 3 weeks in, I've lost three kilograms and 3 centimeters off my tummy and my butt and legs actually got pretty firm by now and people are noticing the difference :) so I am very happy and I am planning to continue with 6 weeks 6 pack because Jillian Michaels is SO working!
