  • Fresh fruit can't be beat for "healthy sweetness"

the three things I had to wrap my head around when I started last month:

    1. Learn to drink oceans of water every day

    2. Learn to love salads and veggies. You can eat them all day long and not come close to exceeding your calorie goals

    3. Eat lots of protein - chicken and turkey. the protein gives you that "I'm full" feeling.

Have you figures out your BMR yet?

    You can do it.

I usually eat fruit, strawberries, watermelon, grapes... and then once in a while if I'm craving ice cream, I will have a froyo instead. I usually have about 4 or 5 ounces of whatever flavor plus an ounce of toppings. It usually kicks the craving and then I will drink a large glass of water after to make myself feel fuller. I typically have a froyo once a week so I don't feel so deprived.

Are you eating a lot of food containing artificial sweeteners? There is some evidence that they actually make you crave more sweets. Your body seems to adjust to the sweet taste with few calories by demanding more.

Im really new to this, what is BMR?
  • BMR is the amount of calories you burn if you sit around all day and do nothing.

What's your height, weight and age?

Sometimes it helps to pair your sweet foods with a protein/fat. For example: apple with cheese, banana with pb, berries with yogurt. The combination helps you feel more full and level out blood sugar spikes.
