So sad that happened to you but I am sure it was an eye opener. Sometimes it takes something like that to get us going in the right direction. Please feel free to add me. We can motivate each other!0

Hey there! I know how you feel. In May I went down to Florida with a group of my friends to visit the amusement parks. I could only end up going on a few of the rides. Now I'm trying hard to loose weight, not just for my health but for my happiness as well.
I'm no expert, but I can help encourage you!0 -
feel free to add me0

So sorry to hear that about your vacation! But congrats on wanting to take control and make the change!
We all have that moment that brought us to, or triggered our weight loss journey. My story was similar to yours. I was 252 lbs at 23 years old. YOU CAN DO THIS! Use that unfortunate helicopter incident as your motivation. In no time you will be flying together as a family, instead of watching from below. What a great goal to work towards!
I'm sending you a friend request. I look forward to helping you along this wonderful journey!0 -
Feel free to add me. Always in need of more friends0

Hello. When I started the ACE on June 23rd, I was at 316.5. As of today, I am now at 300! :-) You can lose the weight and eat healthy if you really want to. I will gladly encourage you and support you. If you need to talk, you can message me on facebook, or send me an e-mail at angieksmith1@yahoo.com. This site, MyFitnessPal will help a lot if you are honest about what you eat. It will help you see exactly what you eat, and help you make better food choices. At least it does that for me. I know you can do this. I don't know if you are a Christian or read a Bible, but if you look up the verse Philippians 4:13, you could use that as a daily motivational verse. Have a good day. :-)0

I know how you feel. It's so embarassing to be left out of things because you're too big. I was just on vacation and the worst is having to use the extension seat belt on an airplane. Hope we can help each other.0

Totally understand and empathize with your experience. I almost drowned during a kayak/ snorkeling adventure in Puerto Rico, so I can totally relate.
I am starting at 270, on day 4 and weighing 266. I am only 5'2" so I am just a heart attack waiting to happen. Determined to get healthy and stay that way this time!
good luck on your journey
You can add me as a friend if you want- I am online every day and can offer lots of support.0 -
Add me up as your friend too. I'm 290lbs and just started this week. I can totally relate to your experience.0

The great thing is that starting now in your 20's, your skin is still so adaptive and muscle builds so easily that you will look like a total bombshell when you are finished (I however will probably need plastic surgery, ugh).0 -
I am coming down from 346 lbs and currently hovering at 290 lbs. No longer 300 pounder:) You can do that too. In first 3-4 months you can be under 300 lbs just be brave and consistency is the key to weight loss.0

Just restarting my journey also. Feel free to add me if you like.0

You came to the right place! Just think of how much awesome stuff you'll be able to do with your family because you can physically keep up with them. It's not just for you, it's for your son and husband. And life, it's too short. Being healthy can prolong your time here with friends and family. Remember, Rome wasn't built in one day. The turtle won that race, and you can win this one too! You can add me as a friend. Here's to your success!0

Please feel free to add me:-) I have been struggling with weight my whole life...love motivating and giving support!0

Hello there
That sounds a horrible experience but an excellent motivator! Just think, on your next holiday you will be fitter healthier and more confident!! I like to think at each weigh in that "this is the most I am ever going to weigh ever again". I totally beleive that you can and will do this, and this website is really good for support.
I am fairly new here but just writing down everything, getting daily support from people who understand your journey and struggles is great.
Feel free to add me as a friend (the more the merrier)
Good luck with your weight loss journey0 -
new too. Feel free to add me and we can push each other and share reached milestones.0

Sometimes that's just the kick in the butt we need! Gives you a horrible feeling at the time, but one day you may look back at that experience and be thankful that it caused you to start moving.
I'm 5'10 and started on MFP at 265, and 3 days before my 25th birthday. By march 30th of next year I want to have hit my first goal weight of 170lbs and give myself the best birthday gift possible. I've lost 30lbs so far, and have 65 to go. I can and WILL lose it because I'm ready.
I've sent you a FR, and anyone else is free to add me as well!0 -
Girl, you sound just like me! I've spent the past year or so just watching my friends and family do fun things, but not being able to join because I was too fat. It's humiliating. I'll send a friend request. I'm super motivated and have really committed to my weight loss!0

Wow congrats to everybody! I don't exactly understand your situation but I am a great listener and very friendly and am happy for you that you are making a big change in life! You can do it! The mind is a powerful thing...when you focus on something hard enough it will become reality. So just tell yourself you have to do this and you are going to hit your goal and it will happen!
Happy health(: I wish you the very best!!

i am really ready for a change i think i am goin to start slow and work my way up..
to me, this is the most important thing you said, and I want you to look back on it when you get discouraged! The MOST important thing, mentally, to me... is to remember to take it slow and have patience. I have lost over 100 pounds since last summer, you can do the same over the next year.
I'm not a good MFP friend, I hardly every comment on statuses, so im not going to clutter up your friend's list with an add request, I just wanted to throw a little encouragement your way and say "you can do this".0 -
Wow thank you all so much for your encouraging words!! It really means alot to know there is so many people willing to help! I will also do my best at being there for all my friends and i am also a very good listener if you need me thank you all!!!!0

I'm so very sorry you had to endure such embarrassment. But look at the bright side, now you are looking to your future and making a better, healthier life for yourself and your family. Take it slow log your food and look to your "friends" for all the support you need. If you don't mind, I'll add you or you can add me. I don't mind. I'm taking it slow too, I started at 280 lbs, I joined the site at 272 lbs and I'm down to 265.8 lbs. Every week I add more to my work out. I started with just walking my dog around my complext (not all that big about 700 steps). Following that, I add walking to the corner of my block + walking the dog first thing in the morning. And yesterday I added jogging in place in the pool. Plus all the walking around the office I do and stretching while I'm at my desk. I burned quite a bit yesterday. And I feel good this morning. There are a few other things you can do as well. Here are a list of videos you can start with for walking (at home). Enjoy and I look forward to sharing in your success!
