Hey Everyone,
I just recently started running/jogging and I know that it's good cardio, but does it count for strength training as well? What are your views?

I don't think so because they recommend that runners do 2-3 days of strength training to help with speed and stamina, which is what I'm attempting to do0

Running is cardio. There are a number of adaptive responses to it that mimic some of the benefits of strength training (increased bone density for example) but runners should also include strength training as part of their regimen.0

I just started running and I LOVE it. I usually do weights THEN go to cardio. I noticed after running my ABS and Butt muscles are really sore. Much more sore than if I only did weights. I think maybe it just helps build up a solid core.0

its not strength training but it should tone up your leg muscles a bit0
