Scared to weigh myself

Okay so I took the batteries out my scale and threw them out the door a couple of weeks ago because I started becoming obsessed and disappointed in the fluctuations!!! I decided to change up a little of what I was eating, and the next week I lost some inches. I am a little curious if I lost weight!!! I can't help it!!! Plus I want to change the data on my HRM to make sure things are accurate....and I was thinking of doing the -20% TDEE so I want to be really accurate....but I am scared of what it will say lol

Crazy right?!

Honestly, if you're losing inches who cares what the scale has to say? Inches may not be as glamorous as seeing a smaller number, but lose enough inches regardless of pounds and you'll find yourself in a new dress size...which is AWESOME. Go get those batteries and take the leap, update your hrm for accuracy. Toss them out again afterwards if you like. Good luck!

It's just a number. The measure of your progress is how you feel and how your clothes fit. The number by itself doesn't mean anything- I weigh like 25lbs more now than the last time I was this size when I was younger. Just get on the scale so you know where you stand.

Seriously the best advice posted on here all day long. The measuring tape is far more effective at seeing your actual progress than a scale will ever be.

Can't take a single scale reading too seriously. My weight fluctuates 2 to 5 pounds in the course of a day, maybe more. If you really want to weigh in daily, you might like using trendweight.com to add some sanity to the measurements. That's what I do, because I like numbers but I want to break myself of obsessing over a single daily measurement. It tells me if I'm going up or down over time... very helpful. And it's free. :)
