i`ve known for a while i`m over weight, and this year doing something about it after a neighbor took a pic of me and i looked AWFUL!!!
since Christmas i`ve been watching what i`ve eaten and a few month ago the same neighbor said "have you lost weight you look a lot better"
i knew i`d lost as all my old clothes are to big i`ve had to start buying new (Charity shops are a god send they take my old stuff i buy the new stuff)
i was pushing on to 19st now i`m just over 16st
anyway last week i went to the Doctor over something, he said i looked like i`d lost weight, told him what i was doing he made an appointment for a dietitian, went to see her today took measurements then said my "ideal weight " should be 10/11st i though that didn`t sound right so i said 14 is my goal no less, we talked a bit more, and she`s going to send me out a diet sheet.
I was thinking all day just who is 11st who i could look up to, and after doing some searching i found out that if i got down to 11st i`d be the same weight as TOM DALEY!!! sweet mother, there isn`t a chance i`d ever get to the same weight as him.
maybe i should ask about seeing somebody else.
is this normal for a dietitian to give over the top expectations?

How tall are you? I looked up Tom Daley and he definitely has almost no body fat, lol.0

i know, but i couldn`t think of anybody else i just needed to picture the look.
i`m 5`8 and "large frame" or as Cartman says "i`m not fat, I`m big boned"0 -
She's probably going by BMI:
http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/body_weight/healthy_weight/bmi_calculator.htm
Still, you should be the one to pick your goal weight. If you are happy at 14 st., then go with that. It's a good starting goal anyway. If when you get there you want to go lower, you can, but you will be significantly healthier at 14 than you were at 19.0 -
First off, you shouldn't set a weight as your goal, instead a body fat percentage. Weight says nothing about muscle mass and fat mass, but body fat percentage means a lot more. Set a good goal for yourself that you think is attainable, but also don't make it too easy of a goal and push yourself. At that matters is that you're happy and healthy.0

11stone for 5"8 is in the healthy range of the BMI chart, I'm pretty sure doctors and dieticians always go by BMI. Obviously the right weight for you is whenever you feel comfortable, but the dietician is just doing her job and letting you know what weight would be considered healthy on the BMI scale. Stick with her and see if she can help you xx0

Geez, that's a pretty harsh weight goal! Even if she is going by BMI, that's using the mid range. Hell, I'm a woman and my goal weight is 157 because that's just inside the "normal" range according to BMI for 5'7". Due to the fact that I'm medium/large framed and fairly active/athletic, I don't expect to get much lower than that and be able to comfortably maintain.
IMHO, go for 14 stone and then who knows, once you get there you may want to lose a bit more.
I found this site that shows height and frame size and it says you could go as high as 172 for your height which would be about 12 stone

Wow, you have lost 3 stone already just by yourself...be super proud
Make your own goals and keep doing what you are doing.
If you want to be 14 stone then go for that, you can always move the goal posts when you reach that weight, if you want to.
IMO it is about feeling good about your self/weight/health not necessarily about numbers from a statistician0
