...met up with a friend from MFP, thus bonding cyber-reality and reality-reality?

For me: In the total 12 month time frame I've been here (old user name & new), I've met SEVEN awesome friends from MFP! It's always an amazing experience to meet the friends I've made here.

    I'd love to but the vast majority of my MFP pals are spread across the States and I'm in the UK. I'd better getting saving for that plane ticket! LOL

    LOL - I live in the States and went to the UK this past May - met up with three of my buddies! I loved the trip (which I had always wanted to do), traveled with a friend here, and got to meet up with some friends too.

    Two are spouses of the above.
    The sixth person attends the same church where I go, and she signed up for the same reason.
    Some have fallen by the wayside, though.

    A grand total of 0 times. I have 3 or four friends who are within driving distance, but I don't have a lot of downtime.

    I have had an experience where someone I didn't know came to me in the steamroom at my Y, and made small talk. She was exhibiting nervous behavoiurs, and then as she left, she said, "You ARE a special snowflake aren't you?" and ran out the door.

    The only thing I could figure was that she was from MFP as a lurker in the forums or something.
