Best exercise to engage lats?

How is my upper body not collapsing into itself... I have like zero lateral muscles because I don't have an exercise besides pull ups to work them.

What are your favorites? I need to revamp my chest circuit.

Ps, if you're going to be an *kitten* you don't have to post. Everything I say is in fun, I enjoy just being active, not trying to come in first place at the gym.

I prefer doing lat pulldowns (wide grip and narrow reverse grip). You didn't specify what type of equipment you have available to use. If you have access to gym equipment, those would be two I recommend.

If you dont have access to gym equipment, you could substitute bands. I recommend searching "Lat exercises" and doing the exercise that you have equpment for.

Bentover rows or Pendley ( I think that was the name) rows.

Pull ups are just fine for a back exercise and to engage the lats.

    Very close. PendlAy rows.

With rows, remember to pull to your diaphram or lower, not your chest. Otherwise you're not engaging all your lats.

I do bent over rows, pull ups (not many. I'm a wus) and both versions of lat pulldown.

lol... my little noodle arms JUST got to the point where they can bench 10lbs more than the bar... asking them to lift my entire body? They'd just up and leave my body. I would have no arms. Hahahaha

But in all seriousness I do try that machine to modify it. I'll have to make it a more regular thing.

Static holds and/or negatives will help if you can manage...on the chin/pull-ups that is

Wide grip pull ups and wide grip lat pull downs are my faves. Next time you do lat pull downs try doing a 3 count on the way up... you'll feel it the next day!
