Has anyone tried it ? Mine run in the family and just about ANYTHING could trigger me.

  • I suffer from migraines but it's been a while since I've had a really bad one. I haven't tried a special diet for it though.

I used to have chronic daily migraine syndrome. I eliminated artificial sweeteners and the headaches started abating. Cutting carbs helped, getting off of soy (raises estrogen), fast foods ( most are high in soy and fried with soy) and sugary drinks helped. Reducing overall fat has helped. Fat causes a higher level of estrogen causing headaches and period problems.

Now I have about four headaches a month, all hormonal. None become migraines, I haven't had my pills filled since may!

Sucrolose was the worst trigger for me. Check your labels and eliminate one food at a time. I keep a journal about triggers.

Food wasn't a trigger for me, ANYTHING was a trigger. So I went on Topomax which is an anti-siezure med and I've never looked back. I've gone from having 4-6 migraines a month to having maybe 4 a year. One thing that still affects me is the weather, when a thunderstorm comes in fast and the barometric pressure changes quickly, I'm in trouble. But I know how to deal with it, and do, and those don't happen that much for me. It's the one trigger I can't avoid. But ever since starting the meds, Even the migraines I do have are not as severe as they were, this in itself makes me happy. Going from being blinded and not able to move to having a bad headache is something I can deal with, especially when it's occasionally.
