Hi i have a question I'm almost at the goal weight that i want and now I'm almost ready to maintain it. My Calorie intake is 1200. Would it be alright to jump to 1800 calories intake or should i raise my calorie limit by 100 every week so that my body will get used to it? Thanks

Definitely up 100 calories a week until you get use to it. You will still see a slight raise in weight do to more waste stored in your bowels and sodium will cause water retention, but it will be temporary.0

I did mine in two steps, 250 calories/day. I changed my weight loss goal from 1 lb/week to 1/2 lb/week when I was within 5 lbs of my goal, and then to maintenance once I hit my goal.
You will probably also gain water weight too as your glycogen (sugar) stores are filled again.0 -
Ok thank you ill keep that in mind. Good thing you told me the weight gain would be temporary because if i would of seen my weight gaining again without knowing that, it would just make me wanna eat less lol. I just cant wait to up my calorie intake to around 1600-1800. I really miss food! Good luck on reaching your goal everybody0

Men should not be on 1200 calories unless supervised by a doctor so I hope you are.0

To maintain, sedentary alone it's probably in the area of 2000.0 -

He asked the average for a man, not the minimum.
Here in the UK it is touted as 2500kcal. The best thing to do is experiment with what works for you. I have to eat a lot not to lose, as I still lose on 2400kcal as a 130lb female...0
