Juicing

So I recently looked into juicing, and I am wondering how effective it really is. I keep seeing online that it is really great, you lose weight fast and it is really healthy. I want to know how many people have tried this method and have seen results and if you have done this what ingredients did you use to juice. I keep seeing avocados and carrots and what not but are their any tasty recipes to make it effective?

You lose weight because you're on a calorie deficit. You feel better because you're eating a ridiculous amount of fruit and veges a day. It's no more effective than any other diet, really. Calories in vs calories out. I know a few people who did it and liked it, but the cost for them was quite expensive, as they could easily go through 4 apples, 2 oranges and 4 sticks of celery in a single 'juice' (and its winter here so that adds up quickly).
Personally, I'm not a fan, I'd rather chew my food than drink it, but I know people who swear by it for weight loss/health. Unfortunately, I don't have any recipes to share, though my friend is a fan of beetroot and apples??0 -
Oh, you mean like fruit juice! Juicing is also slang for using illegal steroids to enhance performance or lose fat.0

I saw a program recently from a guy called joe cross who did it for 60 days lost tons of weight and is good at selling it there is another guy he meets who also then does it for 60days just the price thing per day is crazy he shows you organic and not but then can you put a price on your health. I keep thinking of doing it just I cant afford that at the moment0

One of the most unhealthiest thing you can do to yourself is deprived your body from food and just feed it juice. Unless maybe you juice your veggies and fruits just to get in your vitnamins and you eat a healthy diet that conist of real food.0

yeah, I plan on using veggies and fruits and other high vitamin resources. I have heard a lot of rave for it and decided it might be good to do. no illegal steroids or anything lol0

I personally love it. I am not a veggie eater so juicing them is a way for me to get them down. I personally love spinach, kale, cucumbers, broccoli and fruit of your choice. I haven't had too much expense with it and drink anywhere from 2-4 a day. It is filling and very good for you. However with that being said I do eat a healthy dinner with little carbs and high protein like chicken and I do have some other snacks like string cheese etc. Morning I always eat a yogurt. This week I lowered my carbs to 20 and juiced 4 times a day with sensible dinner and lost 8lbs so yea I am happy with that and 4 inches feel free to friend me
oops forgot to add I do eat 1200 calories a day and intense exercise 7 days a week0 -
I started off with a 5 day juice fast. I bought a juicer and drank 1200-1400 calories worth of juice a day for 5 days. I did this more for mind than body. I needed to break some bad behaviors and perceptions about food in my life. I enjoyed the juice though so I've kept it as part of my new healthy eating. I juice 3-4 times a week as a supplement only. I do like the way I feel because of the extra nutrients I get but I also make sure I'm getting plenty of whole fruits and veggies as well as grains to get my fiber and I eat plenty of proteins and healthy fats.
Juicing doesn't help me lose weight. Eating at a deficit helps me lose weight.
You can't juice avocados or bananas. If you want to add them, you have to put your juice in a blender and puree the banana or avocado with the juice.
Most of the time I juice a combination of a beet, 3 stalks of celery, 1/2 a cucumber, a large carrot, 3-4 big kale leaves or 3 handfuls of spinach, and an apple.0 -
my nephew just told me about this today.. he lost 3 stone in 2 months, but it cost a fortune and not worth it, his brothers a qualified nutritionalist and personal trainer, hes going to the gym with him now instead and eating healthier. The weight piles back on as soon as you stop it apparently.0

I am on my 2nd day of juice fasting, my daughter did it for 7 days, lost 7 lbs but put 3 back on when she started eating again. So looking at the figures she still lost 4 lbs in a week. That was 2 months ago and now just has 1 or 2 juices a day and is losing weight. She said she just needed to kick start her weight loss again and it worked.
I am only doing it for 3 days as it is rather expensive, never realised veg could add up to cost so much.
The other thing is that I have an UP wristband that monitors my sleep, last night I slept better than I have in a long time. However I don't think it will be the case tonight as I have spent a lot of time today having to wee. :-)
Anyone that is juice fasting or thinking of doing it I wish you all the best. xx0
