last 5 pounds

Need suggestions on losing the last 5 pounds. I have been able to maintain the 25 pound lose with a few ups but always can bring it back down to 25 pounds but no less. I'm not complaining as 25 in 7 months and 2 months of staying there is great. I am just not sure if I should try exercising every day for the next month, go on a strict calorie intake. Anyone else figure out how to lose those last few pounds?

In Mens Health (UK) magazine I was reading yesterday that The Rock shifts five pounds in ten days by.......wait for it...eating like mad for a couple of days to make his body think all is well and then WHAM - he socks it with 1800 cals per day for 8 days and works out like crazy everyday including so much CV its unreal. Now I am acutely aware it could all be bull**** for the boys however that magazine is quite trustworthy and has some Doctors writing for it and it does lots of tests and so on. So there you go - that's The Rock's idea :-) Hodgie x

I got zen about my last 5 pounds and just set my calorie count to sedentary and lose 1/2 a pound a week. I think it took like 3 months to lose the last 5 pounds after the first 41 took like 4 months...

I decided to keep focusing on making those calories some of the best nutrition dense calories I have ever eaten . I laid off drinking anything but 2 cups of coffee in the morning, water the rest of the time. And I kept my calorie intake strict, and did my best to never eat back more than 50% of my exercise calories - mainly because I have to eat out 7-21 meals a week for my job, and so my intake is an estimate as well as I use my Nike fuel band to measure how much my activity calories out is.

I added more walking, yoga and Barre 3. I stand up for at least 10 minutes every hour or take a walk break. I make sure even if I can't sleep , I am in bed with the lights off for at least 8 hours a day.

But it did and does take continuous logging and good habit building to maintain. And I do some form of exercise everyday beyond walking, but it can be as little as 10 minutes of Wii Yoga or an hour of Barre3.

There is no reason for me to stay at my current weight other than I want to as long as I can (I am 54) I am within the 10 pound range (125-135 pounds) my doctor gave me.

Thank you both for the advice. I am thinking it will be about 2 to 3 months if I really try hard. I am going to get back to my row machine and pilates even if it is 3 /10 minute sessions a day and my oatmeal, yogurt and fruit smoothies and a ton of beef vegetable soup. August 1st sounded like a good day to start really focusing on that last 5 pounds ;-)
