Cholesterol and Protein Powder

So I only use whey protein powder but I noticed that most of them have a massive amount of cholesterol. I take quite a bit of this stuff each day (anywhere from 2 to 4 scoops) plus I make some recipes with the powder. But it is so full of cholesterol that I am worried I'm just slowly killing myself. Should I be concerned about how much I get when I use protein powder AND eat eggs every day? Should I try to find some low/no cholesterol protein powder?

If so, anyone have any good ones?

Do you have any problems related to cardiovascular?

    If not, then drink up...
  • A lot of higher-quality whey proteins (isolates, particularly) have very little cholesterol; if you're worried about your dietary intake, shopping around and checking labels might be worthwhile.

That said, plenty of contemporary research has suggested that dietary cholesterol has gotten a much worse rap than it really deserves--most of the negatives have since been attributed to the saturated fat content that often accompanies it--and thus you might not need to prioritize worrying about it if you aren't having any problems.

As always, talk to your doctor, listen to your body, yadda yadda.

I don't give a flying flip what my cholesterol numbers are each day personally. I eat over 400 mg most days.

My cholesterol and lipid numbers are fantastic (and every single member of my immediate family takes at least one med to control theirs).

I wouldn't worry about cholestrol from whey and eggs personally.

Thanks for the replies. I don't worry too much, but sometimes when I eat lots of eggs, lots of protein powder, and maybe a protein powder brownie, my cholesterol is through the roof.

I'll get everything checked out just to make sure, but never was worried about it in the past.
