I gained weight?

Ugh. I weigh myself every saturday. Last saturday, i weighed 181.4. Today, I am 183. I am a 5'10" female who is eating around 1550 calories a day. The only explanation I can think of for this is that I did weight training 3 times this past week, which is more than usual for me. But, I've taken thursday and friday as "rest days" and only did the 30 day shred those days. What gives?

Muscles are holding water because you pushed them, could be the case if you did a lot of leg stuff. It will go in its own time.

The position of the moon in the sky has increased the gravitational pull on the earth which has increased your weight exponentially.

Weight fluctuation is normal, especially in females. If you did additional exercise this week and pushed yourself more, there will be water retention.

ETA: about 2 pounds is nothing to be concerned about....

Gaining muscle and losing fat can make your weight go up. That's why the tape measure is mightier than the scales.

Plus time of month can make you fluctuate massively. I put on 2 pounds overnight every time I eat salty food, it soon goes though. I really wouldn't worry about it, sounds like you're working hard and doing it right :)

PS. Drinking plenty of water really helps.

    Or it could be TOM
  • I'm up .1 pounds from last Saturday, which is .5 pounds from yesterday. I exercised more than usual yesterday. Hopefully, it's just water for both of us. Disappointing though. Makes it harder to stay motivated, but I'll push through it. I know pushing me through the hard times is what's gotten me this far. I've heard from others that adding weight training can stall you on the scale for up to six weeks, but after six weeks the weight comes off faster than before. Good wishes for you.
