Not noticing any results.

I've been doing Jillian Michaels Body Revolution for 2 weeks now. Barely lost any pounds and I'm not feeling any results whatsoever. I'm working my butt off with the workouts, giving it my all and even doing some extra throughout the day. I've changed my diet completely. I'm not following her diet simply cause I can't afford to eat those foods and feed a family but I'm eating healthy and counting calories. I try to eat 1200 a day and mostly falling below that. I'm satisfied tho and I feel great with how I'm eating (not hungry all day). Maybe I'm jumping the gun but I thought I would feel a little bit of results by now. Any advice??

I am in the same boat, different workouts but having the same issue. I have read some personal trainers will forbid the scale for about a month after starting a new workout. Maybe i need to take that advice.0

I think you just need to give it some time. Maybe 4-6 weeks, by then you should see some change.0

Hmmm we might need more info. Height, weight, age, gender. Maybe you're not eating enough? There's a lot to consider.0

Well for me the diet part of it is overwhelming. I know to eat healthy, lean cuts of meat, veggies and what not but it just boggles my mind. I'm so confused! Here's an example of what I eat in a day: Breakfast: light and fit yogurt and a banana. Lunch: Romain lettuce, tomatoes, cucs, carrots tbsp of nonfat dressing. Snack: usually fruit like some grapes. Dinner: grilled chicken, whole wheat wrap. lettuce, tomato, bell pepper. I drink at least 100 oz of water a day and nothing else. It's a complete turn around from my diet just 2 weeks ago.. soda, junk food, fast food. Also, I'm 30 yo, 5'2 and 186 lbs. I'm not really focused on what the scale says, I just want to feel some sort of results in my body. I appreciate it all guys, thanks0

more protein, more fiber, more fat, less grapes, chose a fruit that has less sugar for snacking.0

1,200 is generally a good minimum for a woman who is not exercising. You need to eat more. When I was doing Body Revolution I was eating around 2,000 calories per day.0

Like the previous poster said - eat more food and less salad and have patience You are not fueling your body, so don't expect results...0

I definitely agree with the people who said you need to eat more, esp since you're working out.0

Am I right in thinking these Jillian Michaels DVD's are for building muscle, as opposed to weight loss?
If you're doing your routines, genuinely sticking to them, not starving yourself, and scales aren't budging, then I would suggest you start to take some measurements. Muscle is more compact than fat.
I was told the Jillian Michaels dvd's are similar to Insanity. Insanity builds muscle (this is what I have just based my opinion on)
Anyway, good luck!0 -

This...you need fuel the tank better. Up the protein, fiber, fat etc.
I am doing other JM dvd's and jogging plus eating a higher number of calories per day than you and I have been losing inches and pounds steadily so far. Worth a shot! Good luck0 -
If you can't afford her diet, why even follow the system? Most likely it will only work if you do it exactly like that. Why not looking for a diet you can affort? There are way less expesive diets, in which you don't have to buy all kinds of ridiculous expensive stuff. And have you been measuring yourself as well next to weighing?0

You don't have to follow her exact diet to benefit and see results with her workout dvds....imo.0 -

Jillian's BR diet is very restrictive and IMO, too low in calories. You ABSOLUTELY can get results from the workouts without following the diet plan. The workouts are excellent. I did BR before moving on to P90X and have had great success eating what I want with both programs.0 -
You may be succeeding. I was in a similar situation, but fortunately had done a body fat test at the beginning. I only lost two pounds over three months or so and was very discouraged. Then we did another body fat test and concluded that over that time I had lost 13 pounds of fat and gained 11 in muscle. Not a bad trade-off. I felt better and think I looked better. The only remaining issue was the number and I concluded that the number of pounds was less important than the level of fitness and the way I felt.0

two weeks is nothing, remember to eat back all burned calories. good luck. result will come later.0

Two weeks is not very long. I would go for a smaller calorie deficit, weigh everything I ate, and be patient.0

i agree, you may need to eat some more foods and hang in there! change takes time!0

Watch the GI Index of your food.... It's not a fad thing. Balance is very important and depending on your age it is more difficult past 35 - In the last 2 years my hormones and metabolism slowed a lot - same level of exercise and eating but the weight just stuck...
Went to a nutritionist and understanding the sugar you consume from healthy foods like grapes and apples is just as important as watching and managing the refined sugars like cereals and candy.
Portions are another big problem - a serving size is easy to cheat when counting calories and it may not even be intentional.
Eat between 1400 and 1600 calories and don't add back your exercise. Those tapes burn approximately 200 - 300 calories for a 40 min session - a more accurate way to measure is to wear a heart monitor.
Good luck and don't get discouraged...... you are still doing great things for your body!0 -
Thanks everyone. What fruits are the best to eat without so much sugar?0

Eat whatever fruit you want, assuming you don't have medical issues with sugar. I sincerely doubt you'll find many people who are overweight because of fruit.0 -
Your stats are similar to mine when I first started MFP. The clicker doesn't show it for some reason but when I start I was about 182 (I'm 144 at the moment), I did not use Jillian but I did use Turbofire . I started with 1200 calories but I took the advice of some of my pals who were successful and decided to up my calorie intake---I boosted mine to 1450 - 1550 (and probably ate more) and the weight started to come off at a good pace. There were some weeks that the scale did not move but overall I believe I started losing about 1 pound per week---which is what I was aiming for. I'm going to be honest and tell you that I did not have a clean diet--I simply tried to eat within my calorie allowance because doing too many things at once easily sets me up for failure and sticking with a workout routine was my biggest challenge. ---Sometimes it takes a little longer for your body to adjust and you could need a little more time before the scale starts moving in the direction you want. ---You can also add in a little more cardio if you have time.0

I have been doing zumba for a couple of months now and trying to eat better. I have only lost around 8 lbs but I have went down a size in pants. Give it time and don't rush. I like to see results fast too but I am trying to focus on getting healthy and not just loosing weight. As long as I look like I want I don't care what the scale says.0

Agreed, ---I have never cut out fruits (or anything else for that matter) and I still was able to lose weight----I started at 182 and my current weight is 144. Reducing carbs work for a lot of people but that is not the only way to lose weight; ---before anyone throws a sword my way---I am not saying reducing carbs does not work--I'm saying its not the only choice0 -

No you're not going to be building a ton of muscle with Jillian DVDs, even if you're eating at maintenance. Eating at a deficit you won't be building any to speak of, especially not in two weeks.0 -

I agree with all of this. I eat a lot of fruit. 46 lbs lost without cutting out anything.0 -
