Had my first session with a Personal Trainer Today

Wanted to get a form check for my lifts so I tracked down a local PT and went in today. I knew it wasn't going to go well when she told me to stop doing the "plie" and keep my toes pointed straight for the squat. She did correctly identify my back rounding, though. Won't be going back to her.

I had a PT give me some unsolicited advice on my squat form, and it went exactly like that, too. He said I shouldn't be pointing my toes out and then showed me how to do it right--by demonstrating a little quarter squat :)

It is hard to find a good trainer, but they are out there. At the gym chain I go to, what I usually see is glorified rep counters. They set the client up for a bunch of exercises, the more the better, and then zone out. I once saw a client do 10 reps of 135 lb power cleans that he was catching with his hands instead of on his delts, and his trainer didn't blink an eye. It's exasperating.
