Battling Hypothyroidism

I was diagnosed with Hachimoto's disease a few months ago. It explains why I am having trouble losing weight. I am still trying though. At my heaviest I was 112lbs. My weight has fluctuated from 205 - 212 for quite some time.Lately I have been trying to get out and walk or ride bike at least 3 times a week. I haven't been very consistent. I wake up with the best of intentions and I go to sleep hating my failures. I feel really good today. I got out and rode my bike for a full hour with my son. I indulged in one snickers bar. It was enough for the entire day. I feel really good tonight. I am hoping tomorrow I will have even more will power than today.

I have a family history of hypothyroid and my antibodies are high so it seems like I'm heading down that path. It's definitely difficult (I've watched my mom go through it - undiagnosed for YEARS). However she saw some general life improvements when she went gluten-free. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd suggest trying it for a few weeks and see how you feel.

Yes i am really trying to go the gluten free route. Ive tried a few gluten free products. They are so dry, or sometime gummy. But I really like Bob's Red Mill cornbread mix. Almost as good as the real deal, maybe just a little more crumbly.0
