Eat very well and stay active! I only gained 24 pounds with my daughter by doing exactly that. I wasn't into fitness classes at the time but I was doing dog obedience training which kept me going for at least an hour or more per day. I was 140 when I got pregnant and a week post-partum, I was back to my normal weight. None of the weight I gained in the following 20+ years could be blamed on me having a child. So be mindful of what goes in your mouth and keep moving. Good luck!

I just officially hit 15 weeks and I understand the fear of gaining too much! So far I've been pretty good about eating but it's hard to ignore cravings! It's also incredibly difficult to remain active when so lethargic, but it's so much better for the little one in the end! Feel free to FR me!

I'm struggling with this too! I was trying to get off the 15 lbs I've gained in the last year just eating bad and now that I'm pregnant I've hardly got enough energy at the end of the day to walk the dog. I'm going to try and get something in first thing in the morning before I burn out and make sure I still keep my calories in my target range until a doctor tells me to kick up the food.
  • I know just how you feel, i have been reading up. The first trimester you should gain 2 to lbs or even none. Everyone is different. The 2nd tri 12-14 lbs, a steady rate i guess. Im going to try and keep active but yes the tiredness makes it so difficult.I know we can do this!!

I gained 28 pounds when I was pregnant, within the recommended range. I walked a lot in the first two trimesters and did some prenatal workout videos. I did eat more than I otherwise would have, but the majority of it was fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. It's hard when you feel tired all the time, but the more you can keep moving, the better. Congrats and good luck!
