Gout flares up after red wine. Surf the internet for more triggers of gout. It's very, very painful, I know.

So, I did a little research and the information said avoid high purine containing foods (red meats, shellfish and alcohol being worst) and try to eat plenty of fresh veggies and fruits. Here is one of the articles that had some suggestions on what to include.

I know that gout can be very painful, since I have a friend that has it - but threw diet control he has managed to not have a flare up in several years. Good luck

Thanks for the advice... I have been looking into a lot of sites and coming up with some good advice.... But I am finding that everyone is different and what is bad for some may not be bad for me.. so you have to play it my the foods you eat and see what happens.... That is almost what I have been doing. By talking to someone that has gout... He has attacks from some foods that do not even bother me and then there are some I eat and it sets me off that does not bother him. This is crazy but I am learning,,,,

I have very bad feet with some of the worst problems possible according to the doctors I see but thank God gout is not one, I have to agree with the person who posted regarding the doctor. That is your best source of information.
