Now I know what you're thinking, and yes, a dollar a piece for a cold 1.25 liter is a great convenience store price, but how I will ever kick my diet soda addiction.

I bet those turds put something in these soda's that can cause an actual addiction with real withdrawal symptoms.

Welcome!

I read a study online that said that carbonation decreases IQ over time.

A buck a piece is a bargain! I usually buy the 32 oz fountain one for the same price, but that requires a trip to the store every day. I decided yesterday that I will swap my lunchtime diet coke for water, and have an iced coffee/protein drink in the afternoon to get my caffeine fix. We'll see how it goes. That coke is powerful stuff.

Clearly caffeine is hard to kick. . .complete with withdrawal symtpoms and everything. I have a sneaking suspicion that aspartame is addictive, too. Never read it anywhere, but I find it incredibly hard to leave that artificial sweetner behind. It sneaks in here and there even though I ditched diet sodas and haven't had one in over 4 months.

Stealing to support a habit is no good. Go give your wife her $6 back!! :-)

It really does suck. I've cut way back to where I have a day or two a week where I have none, a day or two where I have two, and the rest where I have one. I still have caffeine from Mio added to my water, but it makes a huge difference not to be walking around with a Coke Zero on my face at all times!

My husband has given them up entirely, which is pretty much a miracle, so it can be done, I promise.

I just don't see a particular need to give them up entirely (as long as I don't drink them around my husband and make it harder on him!).

This. Hell, I was shocked the other day when I went to the grocery store, and found soda for $1.79 for a 2-liter bottle. Highway robbery.

Although, I usually get mine fountain, and it's much cheaper. I do things to make the clerks feel good, and they cut me a discount. My 64 oz can be refilled for as low as 59 cents.

Sometimes I find it for 89cents. Yeah, I win! Anyways the secret addictive ingredient in diet coke is caffeine. Don't tell anyone shhhhhhhh!

Also I bought some this weekend too on a supposedly trip to get chocolate milk. I left my diet coke and slim fast in the car when I got home and snuck them in this morning. Do I have a problem?

I'm so addicted to Diet Pepsi, I was considering jacking a Pespi truck and stowing it away for the apocalypse.

Nope or I would have failed a heck of a lot of mandatory drug tests required in every job I have held but I only failed one for Codeine which I had a current prescription for.
