Do you continue to weigh in during maintenance?

Or do you just go by how your clothes fit?
Also, how many kg/lbs do you have open for your maintenance range?

Yes, I weigh in. It's too easy to be in denial if I don't.

I don't have an exact range figured out, but if I'm uncomfortable with where I am I'll adjust.

I still weigh myself every day :) My maintenance range is 3lbs, which is what my weight naturally fluctuates.

If I hadn't kept track of my weight, I would not have been able to stay within the healthy BMI range my whole life.

I weigh myself everyday so I can notice trends. I do not record on MFP though because I hate those messages that say I lost X number of pounds because it's just normal weight fluctuations from one week to the next

Just started it, but have been planning for a while. I will keep weighing but I will not log any weights that are within 5 pounds of goal on the low side and as long as I see a weight at or below goal once a week I will not log the spikes above goal.

ETA - My last two weights have been below. Hard to resist the temptation to log them, but the idea is to give myself a little wiggle room for nights out and whatnot.

I weigh in, mainly to make sure I am not moving too far in either direction.

I've given myself a range of about 10 lbs - my target is 180, but I'm fine anywhere between 175 and 185.

Of course. And it depends on the person. My weight only fluctuates by about 3 pounds usually, so anything other that is something to look into. But it isn't cause for concern unless it keeps going up. By weighing myself often though, I am better able to determine my TDEE (maintenance calories) and can adjust them as needed based on how active I am from one week to the next.

I have basically been at my current (marathon training) goal weight since January. I still weigh in every morning and track my 7 day rolling average.

I burn a lot of calories every day so I need to make sure I am eating enough to keep my weight stable and not lose more.

After my marathon I would like to gain some weight to assist with my strength training. I still plan on weighing in every day so that I can ensure I am gaining weight in a slow and controlled manner. I will prefer to keep a relatively small caloric surplus while bulking so that the ratio of muscle/fat gain remains reasonable.

While I know its not for everyone I really recommend tracking a rolling average weight if you weigh in daily. For me it takes away all concerns about normal daily fluctuations.

I usually weigh in about once a week or every two weeks. I don't have a weight range, but rather a max weight (125 lbs) that I don't let myself go over.

I weigh everyday, mainly cause I think its funny how weight swings from water fluctuations. Also, it makes me feel good to see that number on scale as opposed to old weight.

    Another note...

I am not considering this a "range", just an allowance for swings. There is a difference, at least to me. I will insist on seeing a weight at or below my goal within a week or consider myself over and eat at a deficit until I am below again. Giving myself a "range" would be giving myself permission to gain some of it back and that is a slippery slope for me because that is how it started in years past. I would give myself a range and after I was at the top a while the range started moving up.

I'm not there yet.. but i definitely intend to keep weighing in weekly just to see how i'm getting on. I would say i wouldn't freak out if it was 2lbs either side of ideal, but anymore and I'd make adjustments to maintain.

    Cant wait to get there!!

I agree, monitor your weight periodically to ensure it's not creeping up or down. Fat gain happens slowly, so ignore sudden overnight gains/losses, but if it's creeping up slowly over time, then that's time to make a change to bring it back down to where it should be.

BTW nilbogger, what is your avatar? It looks like what you'd get if Keith Richards had a love child with Kermit (off the Muppets)

    I'm not there but THIS.

I got this way by being in denial and making the scale a devil in disguise.. And since I don't plan to be ever like this again, I've befriend my scale again and it'll be my faithful companion for the rest of my life.

I continue to weigh weekly. I have an eight pound maintenance range. 134 +/- 4 pounds. I call that the green zone. Anywhere in it is fine. It gives me some wiggle room and the ability to live my life without focusing too hard on the 'numbers"

I'm in maintenance but still losing. It's safe to go by how you look and feel and how you fit your clothes. But, to be very safe and be able to grab control fast if you begin gaining, a weekly weigh-in is, in my opinion, a very good idea. You don't want five, ten pounds creeping back on.

Yes, nearly there now and I will definitely weigh every morning.. last time I stopped I lost control and had to start over - not going to happen again. Well done with your achievement and keep it going xx

Yes, I record my daily weight in a paper journal. I only log new lows on MFP so that my friends don't have to congratulate me on the same pound over and over again. I give myself a 5 pound range to bounce around in.

I'm not quite at maintenance but my thought is once you step away from the scale and stop using it, that's when the pounds start creeping back on.

I weigh in almost daily and see my weight fluctuate by a pound or two here and there. I've turned off the MFP notifications for my wall, though. Like another poster, I got tired of seeing the same pounds/ounces "lost" each time. :)

I used to weigh myself daily and get upset if I wasn't where I thought I should be. SOOOOO my trainer took my scale away from me and now I only see it every week. NOW I can see a difference and I am not so focused on the weight part and can focus on the health part with the weight loss as a benefit. Try it

I have been maintaining for two years and I only weigh in once every month or two. Measurements are more important to me at thos point. In the last 6 months I have not lost or gained a pound, however my measurements are still going down.

I've been at maintenance now for approx 3 months. My target weight was 65kg (143lb) and I currently sit at 60kg (132lb) . I allow myself up to a 5lb gain before I take action. I continue to weigh weekly.

Yes I still weigh every day. I know myself, and I know that when I stop weighing myself, it's a slippery slope. Since I don't have to "face the music" on the scale, I am too lenient with my diet.

I give myself a 5lb range. When it starts getting to 3 or 4lbs over, I really grab a hold of my diet and amp up the workouts. Usually I lose a 1 or 2 lbs during the week, and gain them back over the weekend.

I actually thought I was in maintenance mode when I joined MFP a few months ago, and ended up losing 12lbs. I do weigh in at least once per week to just monitor things, although I sort of feel guilty getting congratulated by MFP friends for the little bits of weight I lose here and there if I happen to be down! I am hoping to be up 5-6lbs of muscle in the near future.
