Going to Mystic Lake Casino buffet tonight HELP!

What can I eat that are good choices?
My daily allowance is 1,200 calories.
I only ate a white peach for breakfast this morning, about 60 calories.
I didn't eat at lunch instead I went to work out at YMCA. Work out for 50 minutes burned 385 calories per my polar heart rate monitor.
Is it bad to bank calories for a big buffet dinner?

Baked Chicken- remove the skin. (Maybe they'll have baked fish too! )
Grilled Veggies, but they will most likely be in butter.
No pasta, but a medium baked potato with a lil sour cream will be fine.
There should definately be a salad bar, so load up on fresh veggies. Hopefully they'll have some fruit too.
I would personally pass up the dessert, but since you burned 300+ on your walk, I'd say have a little.0 -
I can only speak from experience -- if you didn't eat much of anything for the entire day due to knowing you'd be around a lot of food at night, it's almost a guarantee you will over eat due to being hungry. Working out on a nearly empty stomach might make it worse.
That being said, make a good portion of your meal at the buffet lean protein -- eat that first. Then go for the veggies, and lastly any whole grain carbs you might like. The protein will help to make you feel full before you put the really high calorie items (carbs) in your system.0 -
Make use of their wonderful selection of fresh fruit and their large salad bar! The baked chicken with skin removed is also a wonderful choice, with lots of veggies or a salad on the side. Avoid the desserts...they're typically not that good and are high calorie.0

Don't ever "bank" your calories as an excuse to binge on one meal!
Instead eat properly throughout the day and choose the healthy options at the buffet. Take the skin off your chicken, fill up at the salad bar, and stay away from the desserts.
If you go a bit over one day it isn't going to make a difference but if you show up ravenous from not eating all day you will definately overindulge.
You can live a little when trying to lose weight, just don't do it often.0 -
Do you HAVE to order the buffet? You could get a single meal off the menu.
But who are we kidding? You are super excited about the buffet.
Just pick the breaded/fried/sugary things LAST!0 -
It's seafood buffet, is that lower in calories?0
