I have PCOS as well and I understand how hard it is to lose weight. I too had trouble taking metformin and BC because of the side effects. You have come so far and done such a fantastic job! You are truly inspiring to me because I know how hard it is to lose weight naturally with PCOS without metformin or other assistance! You look absolutely amazing and it will only get better!
PS you have an awesome body shape! I might be an hour glass too but your waist is getting so defined, I'm jealous! Keep up the great work and don't ever give up (:0 -

Your right, It does make it easier with metamorfin to lose weight, but my issue with that was its manmade...its a chemical being put into your body to kick other side effects and gives other symtpoms. I see medication as a mask for the true underlying problem. My thinking was if you fix the undlying problem then there is no need to mask it!
and thankyou0 -
So r u doing a zumba tape or the Gym?0

So r u doing a zumba tape or the Gym?
I am doing a combo of the original zumba DVD ( cardio party ) and Zumba Exhilarate, or sometimes both.
I tend to not go to the gym that much.0 -

That's how I feel about it too! I tried it and did nothing but throw up so I said no thank you. My gyno said it would be extremely difficult to do without it but here I am losing the weight that she basically said I couldn't and you're doing the same thing! Again keep up the good work girly, you're doing amazing!0 -

Your WAIST. Holy cow! You look wonderful. You have a beautiful hourglass frame.
I also have PCOS. I found that the extended-release metformin didn't give me any side effects, so I've been taking it for a year. I also keep my carbs around 100g or 25% of my daily intake, whatever is lower. I also try to link carbs with protein and fiber to slow the glucose spike even further.
I do cardio for 30-60 minutes every day and strength training 2-3 days per week. I've found that the second I start getting lax on my carbs/processed foods, I bloat up and gain 6-7 pounds in no time. I'm glad you've found the routine that works for you. PCOS is tricky, and not many people understand we don't/can't lose weight like "normal" people who can eat 40% carbs and make them a big part of their day. Carbs are fat for us, not energy.0 -
Holy waist!!! Amazing!0

I have the same thing! I cried and cried and CRIED! All of the medicine I had to take, the hospital visits, (honestly the thing I hate the most is the vaginal ultrasound. I will NEVER forget that pain!) I had felt this pain since I was about 14-15 years old, I'm 21 now. The pain would literally bring me to my knees, seriously, I would drop on the floor wherever I was (The Mall Of America, School, work and at one point on a date) Coincidentally, I plateaued at 233. I worked and worked and nothing!
I hope everything works out good for you! I'll be thinking of ya! It's good to know I am not the only one!0 -

Yes I completely agree with you on that....Carbs for us are fat instigators The moment you let up with your diet it comes back in full force ! I am glad you have taken control of your PCOS instead of letting it control you.0 -
wow, you are looking fabulous! i also deal with pcos and the bloating (also have crohn's so that does not help) but changing to healthier food has really helped, i still bloat up at times (but not near as big as I was) depending on what i eat but i don't have to take any meds at all since I started eating healthy and quit the diet sodas0

thanks Boo! I still have 70 lbs to lose but I will get there one step at a time!0 -
Your story is amazing.
I have PCOS too, and I never could lose weight, until I hit 283 pounds and finally saw a bariatrician (weigh loss specialist, not surgeon) who put me on a program very similar to yours. (4-5 hrs of cardio per week, plus strength training. 1300 calories/day. less than 100g carbs. at least 80g protein). I literally thought she was crazy...I thought I'd starve to death...I'd go into starvation mode and never lose and ounce. But I was wrong. Now I've lost 29.4 pounds.
I really hope to follow in your footsteps! A hundred pounds is a remarkable accomplishment, and I know you've worked hard for every one of those pounds. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the great work!0 -

thankyou for your support! I thought the same thing when they told me not to eat back my calories and put me at 1200 calories.
Ive been told all sorts of things by people on here about exercise bulimia, how im promoting extreme methods, netting low calories etc etc etc. Women who have PCOS are very sensitive to food. Our bodies recognize calories as calories, so our deficits , from what my RD told me, have to be a bit more extreme than someone without our condition. Thank you for sharing! I wish you much success!0 -
Your body is an amazing shape! You definitely have that Jessica Rabbit thing going on!
Congratulations on your weight loss so far, keep up the good work, you're a true inspiration!0 -

thankyou so much for posting!! you look amazing!!!!
i've just started out here and it's making such a difference that there are real people with real journeys, it's already helping me to believe that i can do it.
i'm having a rubbish time with my drs, they can't decide if it is endometriosis, or just a hormone imbalance and just want me to take teh contraceptive pill, which just makes me put on weight and get hairier, their response is, well it's not life threatening. so i'vve been stuck forever since the birth of my youngest son at this weight, and what's worse, apart from the personal trainer i had and acupuncutrist noone ever thinks i'm trying to do anytyhing about it !!! xx thankyou so much for posting!0 -

You've done amazing on your own!! Congrats! I have PCOS too, but I love my metformin it was like a miracle for me. But don't stop what you are doing!!0
-
I am so happy and proud of you!! Sometimes I doubt myself and my ability to lose 100 pound with pcos, seeing you make it gives me so much hope and motivation! Thank you for sharing your story and keep being healthy and kicking pcos butt!0
-
Thank you for sharing your amazing story! I've got PCOS as well, your story gives me so much motivation! There is so much misinformation out there about what to do and what not to do... I am thankful I was finally diagnosed, it's made me understand my body a lot more. Before diagnosis I had doctors and dieticians tell me I was lazy, the obesity alone was responsible for my lack of periods.... Finally I came across a doctor who put all the symptoms together and did the relevant tests. Cysts - more than 20 each side. Blood tests, hormones and insulin resistance point to PCOS... Since eating a more diabetes friendly type diet my blood sugar has stabilised, less mood swings and fatigue... Woo hoo!0

Incredibile! Congrats0
