Just bought some as I've seen a few rave about it. Bought a 1L bottle and it says 100Ml contains 13 calories (Unsweetened)

What's the catch? Does it taste awful??? 130 calories in the whole litre bottle???

Seems too good to be true.

No catch, that's what it is.

I love almond milk. Some people don't. If you like it, then you've found a fantastic new thing! lol

I don't like to drink it by itself, but it makes a perfect smoothie!!

Well it's in the fridge at the moment so gotta wait til it's cold enough yet. Can't believe it's 130 calories per litre! Hope I like it!!

Really worth the try. The only catch I discovered, long-term, was that it can cause stomach upsets. (Almonds contain arsenic, I've read...)

I've never met a milk I don't like, I prefer Almond Milk because it has the fewest cals, and it makes for a really good smoothie and helps keep those cals low. Try it, it may take a sip or 2, and can be an acquired taste, but I think it's delish.

I buy unsweetened vanilla and I love it, love it even more because a cup is only 30 calories. I have never actually drank it just the almond milk itself but I do drink it every morning with my chocolate protein powder and I use it on occasions when I have cereal. I have also used it when making a smoothie. The only thing I have noticed that is odd to me (not bad, just odd) is when I have it on my cereal it does not have the coldness that regular milk has. I do not understand that as it sits in the same fridge right next to the regular milk. like I said odd. Give it a try!

There's no real catch other than the fact that some people don't like the taste, and it's not hugely nutritious. I have it sometimes, but I prefer hazelnut milk which, to me, is tastier. It's lower in calories and sugar than cow's milk, and is obviously good for people who can't have lactose. On the other hand, it doesn't have much protein. So, it depends what you want it for. I have it (or hazelnut) on my porridge, but I don't like it in tea, I prefer real milk for that.

It's mostly water, so naturally very low calories when no sugar added. Not much else too it other than the added calcium, but it tastes better than plain water with cereal.

I love almond milk. I'm not so in to dairy products any more (They make me break out) also, plant milk (such as almond milk, coconut milk, etc.) is usually lower calorie and great in my breakfast smoothies. I have them almost every morning.

I also mix almond milk with my protein powder, helps cut the calories but still get the good stuff in to the mix.

I just want it as a snack rather than having 250ml of milk (100 cals) this is 26 cals!!

I still don't understand how you milk an almond.

    It's a good point.
  • It's good. It's a little thicker than regular milk, so I water it down. Even less calories that way :)

Really I found it much 'thinner' than milk.

Kind of like lightly flavored, thickened water. The sweetened kind has a little more flavor but a lot more calories.

I use the unsweetened kind in cereal as well. I do not recommend it for oatmeal if you are used to creamy and gooey oats.

I don't drink milk of any kind on it's own, but Almond milk is great in coffee to make a latte! I just bought the chocolate to make a mocha (only 45 calories for 8 oz, and I use much less in my coffee).
