Counting Calories

Hi,
I am new to MFP but determined to use and lose weight.
While counting calories I am confused as to which food in the database I should choose. I am from South India and use mainly South Indian food.
For e.g in the database :
Homemade - Idly, 2 Idly ......70 Calories
Generic - Idly, 2 Idly ..............158 Calories
I make Idly at home but not sure which one I should take into consideration.
Any advise on this is very much appreciated
Thanks

Enter your own recipe and enter the ingredients individually that way you'll know it's as accurate as possible0

I am not sure what that is, but when I am not sure about something I will use the recipe builder. It helps you to get more accurate measures on food that you make at home rather than to use nutritional information that someone else did that might be different than your0

Great. Thank you0
