How do you log????

Just curious. I like to marinade chicken breast and steak. I'm not really sure how to log the calories for the marinade so I just guess. For instance, 30 Minute Marinade - Hawaiian (Kroger) is 25 calories per tbsp. How do we know how much of this actually seeps into the chicken? What say you MFP community?

I just kind of eyeball it. I kow how much I put in the bag and I guesstimate how much of it is still in the bag after I take the meat out and subtract. I guess if you wanted to get really crazy, you could actually measure what's left and subtract it that way. But I'm just a tad too lazy for that.0

Measure it before you put the meat in, and then measure what is left after you take the meat out. Log the difference.0

I like this idea0

if I will make the recipe over and over because it is so yummy, I use the recipe feature on mfp and I'm very precise.
If I don't think I'll make it again I guess or use someone else's. I'm not super careful because I am maintaining. If I were losing I'd probably over-estimate or be more precise just to be on the safe side.0 -

This ^^ It's the same for sauteeing. Some oil is left in the pan, but how much? How much am I really consuming? I just eyeball it and guesstimate.0 -
I completely estimate on that. I really don't hink on additional 10 calories or so is going to hurt me. Measuring before is fine, but measuring after and subtracting the difference is a little obsessive in my opinion. If it works for others great, but I don't want to make a lifestyle change of measuring every single thing.0
