NSV. Did 10 pushups today, first time in my adult life

I couldn't even do 10 pushups when I weighed 155 pounds.
But today I tried to see how many I could do. 10 the first set followed by 2 more sets of just 6 reps.
May not seem like much, but for me, it is a nice show of physical progress.

    Exactly.
I loved it when I could tie my shoes with my feet on the floor for the first time on over a decade.
Little by little I'm moving things from the "I don't think I can this" list to the "Firsts" list.

Congratulations! I remember when I started my weight loss/exercise journey, I could barely do one push up. Now I do 3 sets of 40 during my workout. You're right; it's a great feeling to be healthy and do these things.

I was embarrassed in karate class, back when i could still train, that as a black belt I could not do even one proper pushup. I had to do inclined against the window sill.
Now the degenerative osteoarthritis has forced me to stop training, I can do 10. But what I learned while in martial arts training helped me push past the mental blocks and work "can't" out of my vocabulary.

Still working to get to unassisted pull up. Getting closer though. Can do 8 reps at 50# assist and 2 or 3 with 30# assist.

Congrats and that is a big accomplishment. I thought I was doing pushups until I started crossfit. I wasn't going deep enough, so back on knees and working on going deeper until I can do strict pushups.

    Keep going strong!!!!!
