Ideas for exercising with an injury

Hey guys, I'm looking for some suggestions - any help is greatly appreciated!

I recently aggravated an injury from a few years ago, and haven't been able to work out much, and am looking for some ideas to work around the injured area.

I broke my left ankle a few years ago, and it just hasn't been as strong since. I'm always very nervous about doing exercises that involve jumping, as I am afraid about rolling my ankle. Well, a few days ago I was just walking down the sidewalk in sensible shoes, my ankle rolled, and I've been in pain ever since. I've been icing, elevating, and wrapping my ankle, but it still hurts with any type of movement. It's definitely getting better, but I'm nervous about aggravating the injury since I can feel how sore it gets even after walking 1/10th of a mile.

Any ideas for ways I can still get some sort of workout in? All I can come up with is push-ups done on my knees.

Thanks in advance!

Do you work out at a gym? Talk to a trainer there and they can give you some ideas. Or ask your doctor what he would suggest. Some ideas: Bike, weights for upper body (triceps, biceps, etc), swimming. Hope it heals quickly!

I've had knee issues in the past and wrapping it tightly in an ace bandage or using some support made for that particular body part really helps to stabilize the area. Allowed me to build up to not needing any support.
