The Bare naked bear just ate my calories!!:(

So my boyfriend moves all our cereals into these plastic containers to keep them fresh and organized, which is super awesome as far as appearance. However, when I went to look up the nutritional info of the cereal I grabbed and started munching on ( bear bake vanilla almond crunch, mind you I thought a serving size was a cup) I saw that it was 120 for just 1/4 of a cup, and I had eaten a whole two cups! I l've always eaten large bowls of cereal, but that literally took up something like 1,000 calories:( im totally gonna go over my calories today. Does this happen to you? How do you handle this for the rest of the day?

For the future make sure you cut the nutritional ingredients and tape it to the container this is what I do.

The title of this thread had me picturing all kinds of crazy things.

Get in a good workout, and do what you can. No worries, if you're over today, try again tomorrow!

Make smart choices the rest of the day, but eat enough to not be starving. One day like this isn't going to do any real damage. Just do better tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day.

One thing my family always did when we put cereal into containers was cut the side of the box with the nutrition info off and put it on (or in, if clear) the container with the cereal. Maybe something to consider so you don't run into trouble again!

    Yup. That happens to me.
Thats why I usually look it up before I eat it now.

Today? Just go be healthy. You don't need to go burn 1,000 calories.
Even if you go over your count by 1,000 you're not going to gain from it.

Assuming you're at a 500 calorie deficit, then you would only eat 500 calories over your maintenance, which would mean you need to eat 3,000 more calories just to gain one pound. :)

Lol I love the thread title.

Pre-log everything you plan to eat. Or at least check before you eat it.

Try and make good choices today and then start fresh tomorrow.

Don't worry its not the end of the world :flowerforyou:

    WOW :noway:

Usually a cereal serving size is 3/4 cup.

Get a good work out, and eat well for the rest of the day. One day over isn't going to undo everything. And like others have said tape the nutritional info on those containers.

    not granola....

granola with it's nuts and toasted flakes can often be a lot of cals for a little food,

Damn granola! So good but so high in calories!

In the future, ask your guy to cut off the nutrition labels and tape them on the outside of the package. Or as someone else suggested, pre log and/or look up the calories online before eating.

I agree with trying to get a burn in if you can, eat something light for dinner tonight and move on. Chalk it up to a valuable lesson learned!

Don't worry about it today (or do a little bit extra on your work out) and then tell that bare naked bear to take a hike!

No worries. Go for a walk today or workout like a beast in the morning.
Anytime I have a bad night (like last night... Ben & Jerry's + a candy bar) I make certain I kick my own butt the next day.

    Just keep swimming.:drinker:

P.S. Anyone else get flashbacks of "the dingo ate my baby" or am I dating myself?

This. Or, i fyou have kids who lose the nutrition label as mine tend to do, try logging what you are going to eat before, and find a level that meets your caloric needs for the meal. Then you measure it and eat it.

One of the core reasons I don't have granola in the house anymore.
