Must-Haves for your Exercise regimen??

I'm starting a new diet and exercise regimen on Monday and am going shopping this weekend. I have a gym membership at Planet Fitness although I almost never go because all of the machines are ALWAYS taken - so I'm thinking about buying some workout equipment I can use at my home. I have a Kinect and a couple of video games that are for weight loss (I used My Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 and Zumba in 2012 to help me lose 40 lbs and I plan on using them again for cardio/yoga days).
Anyway, what kind of workout equipment is considered a must-have? I'm mostly looking to lose 20 lbs (170lbs to 150lbs) and tone up. My target areas (even though I KNOW that working out will work your entire body) are my arms and my stomach.
Thanks

I personally wouldn't go mad because I think you can use your own body weight perfectly well for strength/ resistance exercise, the only thing I do use is a set of hand weights really0

You can get by with body weight exercise just fine.....for now. You can get plenty of ideas here.

Your body and a timer, best combo ever.
Adjustable dumbells (bought used, plate adjustable type, very cheap) are an excellent deal.
Love my sandbag.0 -
You can do more than you can imagine with an adjustable bench (look on craigslist or so and should be able to find one for around 50 bucks) and some adjustable dumbells. As far as weights for the dumbells, I would initially buy:
4x 2.5's
4x 5's
4x 7.5's (if you can find them)
4x10's
4x25's
You would probably be set for the next year just starting out with this setup.0 -
For me - a pull-up bar you can fit through the doorway and a copy of You Are Your Own Gym.
Second to that but not essential were a 30K adjustable dumbbell set and a series of kettlebells, just for a change.0
