Today at the gym I bench pressed 25 kg for the first time . I think thats 55 lb. I managed 3 x 5 reps before I had to drop down to 20 kg .
I am so exited and pleased with myself and thought I would share it here because my family just laugh and think I am nuts to even think about lifting weights at my age.
Anyway for those that are interested my stats are
Age 63
5 feet 1 inch tall
116 pounds
and heres todays celebratory pic after the lifts

Thank you all for the great comments . I would reccommend weight lifting to all older ladies. It makes you stronger and its good for your bone density too.
Its also good for reducing " bingo wings " [ thats a UK phrase for the flabby bits that hang down under the arms ] :0)0 -
You are amazing, I have wanted to start lifting but, don't know where to start. need to put more effort into finding a trainer!0
