Way below your calories?

What do you do when you haven't ate enough? I slept in big time today and now I'm way under.

Its after 8 pm and I'm over 500 under my 1200 a day limit.

Should I just say oh well? Eat something big? What do you do?

I'm sure many would disagree, but I wouldnt be worried about being under, as long as its not a frequent occurrence. Of course, if you are hungry, then you should have somehting to eat:)

I'm definitely not hungry. :P I've been eating all day (I eat a lot of fruits and veggies) and just had some rice for dinner. I'm big on time too, I don't like eating after 9 pm. I think I might try to eat something around 8:30 and try not to worry about what is left. This definitely cannot be a regular thing.

I think I just need to tell my husband to never allow me to sleep in until after 1 pm ever again! That would solve all this.

Eat more tomorrow. It's not like your calories run on a strict 24 hour expiration schedule. If I have a lot of calories left over from one or two days and i feel it's going to negatively impact my goals I plan a really large overage (for the amount of a deficit) the next day.
  • Also, don't feel like you have to eat extra to counteract the workout calories you earn. I'm not advocating that you undereat, but if you're eating a lot of fruit and veggies then it isn't surprising that you're full before you used up your allowance. :)
  • only eat if you are hungry :)

I wouldn't worry about it- a few days isn't going to make that big of difference.. Just be careful not to get too hungry. That's what I find happens to me if I go too many days without eating enough.

I pretty much snack all day on fruits, veggies, yogurt, rice cakes, things like that. Things that aren't too high calorie. I ate some veggie medley and now I'm only 405 under which to me feels a lot better.

I'm going to try my hardest to not let this happen again.

Eat higher calorie things - problem solved :-) Not being a smart aleck, it's just true.

I definitely made a huge mistake in buying low calorie foods only. I'm still getting used to this stuff. I'm in recovery for an eating disorder and still in an eating disorder state of mind. Definitely need to work in some higher calorie foods.

I don't eat if I am not hungry just to meet the calories. I have noticed that the day I am under (not usually), I happen to eat well the next day. If I am over my calories, I consciously cut down on calories the next day.

If you can get your hands on some almonds that would be a quick way to use up a couple hundred calories pretty easily with a fairly small amount.

I personally do not eat if I'm not hungry, even if I am under my calorie goal. I figure part of the healthy lifestyle process is learning to eat when you're hungry and not eat when you're not. And, I too, do not like to eat late. So if I find myself under my calorie goal and I'm hungry, but it is after 7:30 p.m., I don't eat.

Two pieces of buttered toast and a glass of milk or orange juice? Or toast and peanut butter.

OR . . . eat a bit today and go over tomorrow. It's not day to day. But you should be close to your calories over the week.

OR . . . one muffin  I never get to eat them - too many calories.

If all the planets align and I find myself under my calorie goal significantly, and I'm not hungry (so.... Maybe twice every six months)... I have a small, high fat snack boost. Like an avocado or spoon full of coconut oil. YUM

Good for you for identifying this. Sounds like you found a few solutions - nuts are always a good go-to. Best of luck! :)
