C-section and losing the belly

Hi ladies! I had 2 c-sections (one in 2007 and one in 2010) and have been struggling to lose my flabby belly. I feel like I lose weight all over my body except for my belly. Could this be possible? I am open to any suggestions as to losing the c-section belly flab. I often joke with DH that I will have to eventually get a tummy tuck if I want my stomach even slightly flatter then it is now. I don't expect to have the same stomach tone that I did in my twenties but something has to give, right?

Cheers, Katie

I am feeling the same way! I work my *kitten* off everyday going on the treadmill, stationary bike, Jillian Michaels, weight training, and more. I work really hard and I'm sure you do too! I feel like I'm loosing weight everywhere but my tummy. I just wanted to wish you luck. I feel you on the same level!

I had 2 c-sections, one in 1999 and one in 2009. I started lifting heavy and doing iso work on my ab area. I noticed, 2 months in, a tightening in the core.

i did not have a c-section, however i'm five foot three and had three babies all over 9 pounds. i have nasty belly flab that wont go away no matter what i do. i'm afraid mine is here to stay. i looked into tummy tucks and honestly......have you seen the scars it leaves? its a tough one but i think i 'd rather have my flab then take my chances on some of the "unrealistic" jobs i've seen

    Hello Katie,
No help for saggy skin. But what I and a couple friends ( C-Sections) have found helpful
is Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred and Ripped in 30. They tend to be
a little mundane, but if you apply yourself , you WILL lose inches, therefore feeling better.

    Hello,
My daughter had a tummy tuck and hers turned out beautiful.I don't know where you are
but she went to a cosmetic surgeon in Olympia, Wa. She was very thourough with checking
credentials and such. If this is your area and you are interested, add me, and I'll PM you the info.
  • I have had a c-section and I find the fat comes off slower in the mid-section now as well, but weight lifting and core strength training has made a huge difference. It will happen if you are set on it and work hard, it is just probably going to happen slower and I don't think it's possible without working out.

I too had 2 c sections...I had worked my butt off and lost 90+ lbs. I did alot of situps and alot of core exercises and they didn't seem to help enough to make a huge difference. I joked with my hubby about getting a tummy tuck if I couldn't get it tighter on my own...and well...my jokes turned to a reality. I had a tummy tuck in May and it was the best decision I made for myself. :)

I had a c-section with my twins and I was terrified that I would have a bib for a belly. Yes, it is going slower and getting a little puckery, but my skin is still elastic and I believe it may all work out alright. I'm 2/3rds of the way there so I should find out in a few months.

So far mine is still there and I'm down to about 23% BF at 38 yrs old. I may have to get to 18% or lower for my belly to be flat and I'm just not sure it's worth it. The tummy tuck surgery recovery is awful from what I've heard. I had an appointment booked but backed out because I can't be out of the game that long.

I've had 4 c sections. And I've lost 28 lbs and now the skin is even more losing and hanging. I would love to lose that kangaroo pouch. It's the part of my body I'm most insecure about.

I've had two c/s- 2007 and 2011. My belly was sooo bad. I have noticed the thing that is helping me the most are planks. I still have a pouch under the belly button, but it is not nearly as bad. Planks have been a life saver to me!
