Does it really matter?

I have about 10 pounds to lose (5'7 and I'm 146). I'm also doing a Chalean Extreme/T25 hybrid. I'm no where close to having abs. So does doing the ab workout really make a difference?

There is a very minor change through the increase in Tonus of a more fit muscle, but you could have the world's most 'toned' abs, and if they are under an inch of fat they won't show.

Bodyfat % >>>>>>>>> Muscle tone ---> for showing muscle

OF course, there's every good healthy reason in the world to work your core (not just abs) so definitely pay attention to it.

Working your abs will results in them becoming stronger or having more endurance. You could gain muscle there by working them if you eat at a caloric surplus. But, doing ab exercises is not what "gives you abs". Your diet, resulting in loss of fat, which is an allover process, is what "gives you abs". If you don't like the abs exercises, don't do them. Are you doing compound lifts (I'm unfamiliar with ChaLean Extreme)? You can work your core and gain core strength through those types of exercises as well.

There are a lot of compound lifts in CLX, so that's great to hear! Once I lose more body fat I'll start adding in more ab work.

Do the ab work now then when the fat layer is gone you will see them show up, don't put it off
