Thinspo is terrible. If you do not know what it is, google it. It is the portrayal of an unrealistic body type that many girls/women strive for.

I will admit, I have looked at thinspo at times. All it does for me is make me feel bad about myself and my body type. I have since stopped looking at it and strive for a more fit body. Thinspo even pops up on pinterest from time to time when I am browsing through fashion or beauty sections. In this article, it staytes that: "A 2010 study by Jett, LaPorte, & Wanchisn showed that 84% of non-eating disordered participants decreased their weekly calorie intake by an average of 2,470 calories after viewing pro-eating disorder websites, with only about half of the participants actively perceiving the reduction".

What do you think of this? Read the article. It is very interesting and includes some studies that were done on pro-ana and thinspo websites.

I first heard of this today. I thought maybe it was something like "fitspiration",until I Googled it. :noway: Nearly fell off of my chair! How terrible! I agree that it's not healthy to be excessively overweight, but the extreme opposite is, imo, just as bad! If you're someone reading this, and THAT is what you're aspiring for...please...just don't. In 110% seriousness, my s.o. walked by and thought I was looking up photos of concentration camp victims.
