Antsy for workouts

I'm starting to realize that I feel antsy while I'm waiting to work out. Like today is a day I will do cardio with my my husband. We will probably bike about 8 miles today. However, I have to wait until he gets home from work before we can go.

I sort of just feel like I could exercise right now. I don't want to wear myself out before the bike ride though. Anyone else get this way? Maybe I'm becoming OCD or I'm just bored, lol.

I get this way as well, mostly because I LOVE exercise, but also because there is something to be said about the sense of inertia that comes on when you go home and sit on a couch or lay down for sometime.

I've never experienced this before. I'm guessing you are just bored.

When you eat right and move more, your energy levels go up. I'm the same way. I do my exercising at dawn (walking 3.5 miles), and the rest of the day I'm at home with my daughter. I feel beyond antsy. It's not boredom. It's that you have more energy. I haven't figured out how to channel that extra energy yet, lol. I don't want to overwork myself either... just need to find something to use that energy on!

Walk around the block or do some chores around the house to keep your mind off it?

I know exactly what you mean, and I would attribute it to my daily energy rhythm. I remember it was especially strong during the 2nd trimester of my pregnancy (I gave birth to a beautiful little girl a month ago) and unfortunately it often happened when my gym's daycare was closed!

If you have some dumbbells, maybe do a light strength training workout with those in the mean time? Or yoga, if you're into that?

No advice here, but I'm the same way. Not even from a weight loss side, but a few hours after a good workout and I'm already wanting to do something else.

Usually I do a lot of yoga, pilates, or just take a nice walk if I'm feeling like that in between my morning and night workouts.

Chores I could be doing, but I feel like that is all I do (3 kids), so I'm trying to make that a lesser focus in my life. I've already picked up today, completed three loads of laundry, picked up again....

I think you all are right, I must have more energy than I used to.

I do yoga and tai chi on my strength training days, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to do it on cardio days too.
