So after much debate and lots of planning I have finally completed my marathon schedule for this upcoming season I do have a few repeat races from last year because I just really like them a lot! So here it is...
October 9, 2010 - ING Hartford Marathon (Hartford, CT)
October 31, 2010 - Marine Corps Marathon (Washington DC)
November 14, 2010 - Pensacola Marathon (Pensacola, FL)
December 5, 2010 - Las Vegas Marathon (Las Vegas, NV)
December 11, 2010 - Rocket City Marathon (Huntsville, AL)
January 9, 2011 - First Light Marathon (Mobile, AL)
January 30, 2011 - ING Miami Marathon (Miami, FL)
February 13, 2011 - Mercedes-Benz Marathon (Birmingham, AL)
March 5, 2011 - Snickers Energy Bar Marathon (Albany, GA)
April 30, 2011 - Country Music Marathon (Nashville, TN)
May 14, 2011 - Brookings Marathon (Brookings, SD)
May 21, 2011 - Fargo Marathon (Fargo, ND)
There is going to be a handfull of half marathons thrown in there as well, maybe 5 or 6 of them....don't know which ones yet though. I am looking forward to a great racing season. Hopefully all of my summer training will have paid off

Looks like fun! Where do you find the time to travel so much??0

Wow, that's a lot of marathons! How do you manage to recover so quickly in between?0
-
big_man - my recovery only takes a couple of days after a race and then I am pretty much good to go. I think my recovery is quicker because of all the strain I put on my legs day to day in between races and during training. I force myself to get out there even when the legs feel tired. I also eat a TON or protein right after races and ever since I started doing that, my recovery has gone from a few weeks to a few days.
Jill - Weekend races for the most part so I leave here on Friday's and come back on Sundays0 -
Do you ever track your miles/schedule on dailymile.com? I log in here for my calories/exercise but I also log everything on dailymile because you can post your schedule.0
-
Sara,
No I have never used dailymile.com I log everything on runners world...I don't know why it is just what I have been using since I started running but I am going to go check out the dailymile.com right now0 -
Wow, that is a very ambitious schedule! How inspiring!
I will be running the Marine Corps Marathon too! Maybe I'll see you there, Ha ha!

Just so I understand this. Marathon Season is over the fall/winter/spring?
Now I feel like a wuss for wondering if a 10 mile race 6 weeks after a Half Marathon was too close.0 -

Naaaa, don't feel like a wuss!!! My marathon season is from October to May every year. I spend June through September in training. I still run a lot in between marathons but mostly that is maintenance miles....I try not to kill myself during the season....so during training I work my way up from about 140 or 150 miles per month up to 250 miles per month and then during the season I run about 120 miles per month.0 -
A very ambitious, but inspiring schedule! Have you always been a runner or did you begin when your weightloss began?0

Looks like a lot of fun. I'd be interested in reading your race reports! Racing is fun (but expensive)0

I would probably say that my weight loss began when I started running. I started running in June 2008.0 -

I've always wanted to take a road trip to the South... Could be a great excuse :P I'll keep this in mind come Feb/Mar if I am feeling particularly ambitious!

Nashville is a GREAT city and the race was pretty good last year except for the thunderstorms. I am looking forward to a great time again this year
Thanks meagalayne - I don't know about a machine but I appreciate the compliment
