Things to drink

I'm rebooting my diet this week, and am trying to work out what can be had as a regular, virtuous drink. Obviously, there are going to be no sugary drinks, and alcohol and lattes as sparingly as possible, but what about things like:

- squash? I like drinking Tesco's Blackcurrant and apple. Am I being a fool in thinking that because its only a few calories a glass, it doesn't matter? Link: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=263588172

- Non-alcoholic beer: I'll count the calories of course, but anything else to watch out for? My regular is Bavaria 0.0%: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=262579904

- Jasmine tea? I'm new to this, but think its gorgeous. Any pitfalls?

- Diet Coke / Pepsi / Max / Zero etc. Low calories, sure, but I recall hearing that their still pretty problematic.

And is there a good, diet friendly volume drink with a flavour that I might have missed?

Thank you in advance!

  • You should look into the Mio liquids and all that. Buy some club soda and then add the Mio and you have a calorie free grape/cherry/whatever soda.

I'm a fan of Arnold Palmer's (Half Iced Tea and Half Lemonade) Zero Calorie.

Where is water on this list? Diet drinks are good but water is supreme drink. The tea is good since it water - since you are over the pond I am unsure what crystal light like items you have there but things like that are good (sugar free flavorings to add to water).

Yes, water is the original and best beverage! And I certainly think I may have been under-estimating how much it could help with staving off hunger or giving the hands something to do.

But I think I like flavour too much - something with bite.

Drink whatever you want. I drink tea, coffee, diet pop, homemade juice, and water. Nothing wrong with any of them.
