Stopping birth control

I stopped my hormonal birth control, any I've been extremely been extremely hungry ever since, with wild sugar cravings and weird insomnia....I usually love my sleep and have NO problems sleeping 8+ hours. I wasn't expecting to struggle this much, anyone else had this many issues detoxing from birth control? How long until it went away? It's been 2-3 weeks!

Ooooh not sure. I know when I stopped the pill it took me 2 months to get a period so hope its not that long for you! Hopefully your hormones will settle down soon and the cravings go away.

Mine is still crazy I was on depo provera for 3 months and I was also "spotting" for 1 & 1/2 months during. it's been 3 months now and, I haven't had a "monthly" yet!

Last time I was on it I was on it for 2 years, and didn't have a monthly for almost the whole time, so the doc said it was time to get off of it, and made me take some kind of hormone pills to get my estrogen back on track and I was a tornado of an emotional hot mess, I would talk to your doctor about it. I think because it is not natural our bodies are just freaking out and taking it's time to get back to "normal" again

It shouldn't last long the cravings, I was like that for the first month but just drink water anytime I'm feeling weird, still get emotional, but exercising again after a while is making me feel better!
  • I've considered doing this recently and I read it can take at least 6 months for your body to get back to 'normal'.

I have recently stopped taking the pill. Insomnia & cravings sound so much better than hormonal outrage!!!

I am the same! It is crazy! but I also do eat a lot more when I'm on the pill!

It's a tricky situation! Hope you get back to normal shortly!
