Hey everybody.
My name is Shelley
My daughter just recently moved back home and we started eating better and walking. She seems to be loosing so much more than I am. I am down 10lbs and she is down 25lbs.
My reason for this post is not only to possibly find some people to stay in contact with for encouragement and strength but also maybe find some helpful ideas to keep my weight loss moving along at every stage. Weather it is work out info or meals and snack ideas.
I am a very traditional mom. With three grown children. They were raised on Meat, potato and veggie with something sweet at night. So to say I am starting from scratch is an understatement. Most of the information we are getting is what my daughter is getting off the internet.
Joining a gym is not an option as I don't want to get up and always leave my home to get my work out in ( and money is tight). This is not short term for me. This is my second huge life change and I am in it for the rest of my life. I was a smoker for thirty years and quit 16 months ago. I am very proud of that and also realize that I need to build up endurance before I can run a mile without stopping. Now that will be a banner day.
Can't wait to hear what you all have to say.

anyone can add me!0 -
I am in the same boat. I am presently trying to quit smoking...again. I work to jobs and have 3 kids. I literally have no time to go to the gym and by the time i'm done working I am exhausted anyway. My doctor said the best thing to do is go for walks!0

Major props for quitting smoking! Feel free to add me. I can be sarcastic and vulgar sometimes but I'm good for a laugh and my diet is wicked healthy. I'm losing weight although I don't workout very often, either.0
