Currently we get WIC. Cows milk. whole grain breads. PB. block cheese. cereal. juice. that stuff. ive recently gotten a much better job with much better pay and i dont feel like well need help from WIC. ive also learned cows milk isnt that good for humans. i think ill switch to almond. but for everything else...what are the healthier options? my kids love PB and cheese (not together but you get it) . i dont want to have to do any special online ordering. just things i can get at a normal grocery store. also im trying to cut them off those sugary juices. but they do like them so what is a better, less sugary alternitive?

There's nothing wrong with cow's milk if you are not sensitive/allergic to it..........
Fresh fruits and veggies, lean cuts of meat...just track your calories and macros and remember to never demonize foods and that fat does not make you fat unless you eat too much of it calorie-wise.
I eat cheese and peanut butter all the time.0 -

I eat cheese and peanut butter all the time.Everyone who contests it throws back a bunch of info that is either BS or the sources are sketchy or the 'study' is very very misleading and can be explained in a way that doesn't make cows 'bad'. There's no 'bad' food if you ask me. There's a balance you should work towards. Get in the nutrients you need, if that includes drinking milk to get bioavailable calcium and a little protein boost with some fat to help absorb other nutrients, then great.

"Ice smoothie" - fruit such as oranges/bananas and strawberries - one cup of light yogurt - plenty of crushed ice - and a colorful straw always did the trick at our home.
Peanut butter spread into celery stalks.
Frozen homemade Popsicles instead of a sugary drink?
Keep thinking and I have learned a lot at MFP from the message boards and I bet you will too! Good Luck - and congrats on the job too0 -
(Dairy) milk is as okay as Soy milk. Don't buy into all the propaganda. Free your mind...0

I'm not buying into the propaganda. That's why I enjoy cow's milk. :bigsmile:0 -
Those foods were being provided by the government for your kids for free because they need it. Why would you buy them anything less now that you can afford it? Keep buying them the same stuff. Those are all foods you already know your kids like and will eat and are good for them. If it ain't broke don't fix it. They are all readily available at grocery stores. Make life easy on yourself. I'm happy for you and your children that you are doing better financially. This will only lead to good things. I'm proud and happy for you that you have kids that eat well and like the foods. Enjoy your kids and your new job. :flowerforyou:0
