Any belly dancers out there?

I have wanted to try belly dancing for years and finally found a class to take! I've been a few times and it's amazing. I adore my teacher. But it's in another city over an hour away, and when school starts there's a chance I will have a night job and not be able to go to my class any more.

What resources do you use when you can't make it to a class? Are there any good DVDs or the like out there?

    there are tones of DVDs on Amazon and lots of videos on utube you just have to look and see what you like. I think most DVDs have a routine on utube so you can try it before you buy it....

    I took a few classes when I was looking for low impact ways to exercise and I thought it was really fun. I know that Rachel Brice has some good dvd's if you're looking for some workouts.

    Oh yeah, I've seen all the DVDs on Amazon. But the one I bought turned out to be crap so I was hoping to hear which specific ones you guys found most helpful.

    Rachel Brice you say? I'll check her out! The class was a lot of fun, lol. It felt like we were hardly moving and I was still exhausted and sore afterwards

    The class I went to wasn't expensive at all in itself, it was just the gas to get there that was killing me ><;

    YES! I practiced heaps in my early twenties (I'm 30 now) and still LOVE it.

    There are some amazing Youtube channels out there so I recommend you take a look. Also there is a wonderfully beautiful book called 'Grandmother's Secrets' which is simply a must read :happy:
