Since I can't run, I'm going to bike but help?

I'm dealing with plantar fasciitis so going to take a break from the running and try biking. I will be using a stationary bike in a fitness center. I generally ran 2 - 3 miles on a treadmill. What type of time and speed should I be trying to attempt on the bike. Anyone who has thoughts or recommendations, I would love to hear!

I had a somewhat similar question recently. My cursory google research came up with a 1:3 ratio for running:biking miles (so biking 3 miles is "equivalent" to running 1). As for speed, well I don't have a lot to offer. I ride outside, so I don't know how that translates to stationary biking. I am a slow runner and a slow biker. I do both at a pace I feel I can sustain.0

When I had my foot injury I was told to buy the hard soled bike specific shoes. Our spin classes and some of the bikes on the gym floor had a platform for the cycle shoes to click into! That was actually how I started cycling.
To start with I wouldn't worry much about speed or distance. It is very different then running. I would just start with enough time to get your tush used to the seat and start building up from there. As soon as I started adding resistance I was winded like crazy. I found it to be a very good workout!0
