50 pounds & 80 pounds lost

April 2013- I think I'd lost around 20 pounds & my husband around 40.



We've had plenty of challenges along the way. He started in February and had to have knee surgery almost immediately. He tore his meniscus about 2 weeks in, and still has some pain from that, but has been working around it. I started in March and in June, I had to have my appendix out. We have 2 kids who keep us very busy. I've been known to go run around the park while the 10 year old is at baseball practice, or go to the gym while the younger one is at his therapies (he has autism).

I do think having a partner helps a lot. We work together to make sure that we each have time to get some exercise in, and will check each others' diaries before planning meals, so we stay within our calorie goals. We never go to the gym together, but we're always discussing and comparing our workouts and we've both found new things we enjoy because of it.

I feel so much better these days, not just physically, but mentally healthier, as well. I'm more self confident and just generally happier. And I'm lucky to have such a wonderful husband.
